Watched this yesterday. Honestly I am not looking forward to it
nearly as much as I was the Charles Barkley one. Romano seems
like a nice enough guy though, and appears to have a bit more
skill at golf. His goal is to be able to break 80. Currently Romano
shoots in the mid 90s. I think a lot more people will gravitate to
this version since a lot of people shoot in that range and would
love to be able to break 80. It appears that Romano has the
basic skills to pull it off, but judging from the previews he is
going to get worse before he gets better. I think Haney tends
to fill these guys heads with way too many swing thoughts and
gets them all confused. Just because he can teach Tiger and
other pros doesn't mean he can talk shop with a regular golfer.
Will be interesting to see where it ends up going.

i think that is true with most people at most things: you develop bad habits, work your way around them in your own game, and then to get better you pretty much have to destroy your game as you know it and look like a moron while you learn the correct way. i am looking forward to seeing someone with a game i can relate to on this show. i am looking forward to really improving my game this summer, my game is about where his is, and it may motivate me to try and work out some of the bad habits in my swing.

I don't worry a ton about my swing. Generally, I'm putting for par and the occassional birdie. Improving my game within 80 yards of the pin would get me under 80 more than anything on the tee box or the fairway.

I would think 95 to 80 with Haney as your coach would be possible. If you can shoot 90, there is enough talent there to shave a lot of strokes by eliminating the extra chip and/or putt that seems to be added 6-8 times a round. Add in a swing coach to work out the "crazy bad" drives and irons and you could go a long way.

2nd episode was pretty boring. I don't like this version half as much as
Barkley's at this point. Haney really married up I noticed. He looks like
a saddle bag from an old western and she looks great. HOpefully this
starts getting better soon or I am throwing in the towel.
