Shawon, Lee Arthur, D Lee, Leon Durham, Sarge, Patterson, Lofton, moises, Dawson, Rondell White, Tom Gordon, EY, Tom Goodwin, Randall Simon, Juan Pierre, Jerry Hairston, Les Walrod, Cliff Floyd, Daryle Ward, Eric Patterson..to just name a few.

Do you think they had such racist issues at Wrigley, but yet most still come back?, or when they got such unmarked mail, they realized that they might be playing on one of the most watched teams in America and probably some old codger living in Boise sent him a racist letter and it is not representative of what the Cubs fans as a group think, thus all above smart enough to not mention the one problem and cast it upon millions.

You're forgetting some of my favorites, like Derrick May, Kevin Foster, Kevin Roberson, Jerome Walton, Scott Bullett, Ozzie Timmons, Mike Harkey, and Kal Daniels still trying to score from 3rd base crawling on his knees....

I still remember Lou Brock, Billy Williams and Bill Madlock, all of whom found greener grass on the other side ;)

Didn't think we'd ever have to invoke the name Les Walrond ever again.

I brought in the Les Walrod in the attempt to find the obscure black player , who sucked , and had nothing to lose by coming out of the woodwork and say "HEY LOOK AT ME, I GOT RACIST HATE MAIL TOO!"

Once again though, we can't forget Milton's had no return address and no postmark and then my favorite part of all "HE DIDNT EVEN OPEN IT!" HE JUST KNEW!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

Didn't Les actually do good for the Cubs? I was surprised he did not come back into the picture, the following season. (Did not look it up,going by memory)

Les might have been hit pretty good in 1 relief appearance raising his ERA. He struck out a lot of guys in his brief Cubs career. Cubs did not invite him back in 2007 despite good AAA stats.
=====================================

Update on Les (looked it up!):

In 2006, he signed with the Chicago Cubs. He was with the Iowa Cubs in the PCL, with a record of 10-5 and an ERA of 3.98. He went 0-1 with a 6.23 ERA in 10 late-season games for the 2006 Cubs despite 21 Ks in 17 1/3 IP. He got his first MLB plate appearance, laying down a sacrifice bunt successfully against Jeff Weaver to set up a Roger Cedeno run. In his first at-bat, he struck out against Brett Myers.

Walrond had a 11-5, 4.77 record for Iowa in 2007. He led the club in wins and became the first Iowa hurler with back-to-back double-digit win seasons since Blaise Ilsley in 1993-1994. In 2008, Les was 1-1 with a 6.55 ERA in 7 games for Iowa, allowing 20 hits in 11 innings.

Old Man Wrigley was running a damned plantation....ask Bill Madlock.
What next, Martin Luther King's second choice of venue for the "I have a Dream" speech was Wrigley Field?

Imagine if Hank Aaron was as bothered by comments (much less the death threats he got) when he was playing, as Milton obviously is claiming to have been. He never could have broken Babe Ruth's career home run record. Imagine the comments Jacki Robinson, Ernie Banks and other Negro League stars endured when the first integrated Baseball. Had they succumed to the pressure and lost focus as Milton claims happened to him, it would have been said that Black ballplayers were inferior. That they could not take the pressure of the major leagues. But I doubt Milton's kids ever heard any racist comments. I think he made that up, along with the story about mail with no postmark on it. Hendry says that there was never an occassion that club officials were made aware of such mail. I think Milton is just looking for excuses for a lousy season. Amazing...they get rid of the turd, yet he's still managing to be a distraction.

So how old were you when you were sending those death threats to Hank Aaron?

Was reading Vineline today (it's great toilet reading) and there was a story about some local school that comes over every year and sings TAKE ME OUT...to the ground crew who loads the trucks to go down to AZ.

It also said they send letters to the players during the year!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! THAT ARE DELIVERED BY THE CUBS CLUBHOUSE GUY!!!!!!!!

Mary Mitchell, who I think said she has been to 3 Cub games in her life said she was called "Aunt Jemima" from someone coming down from the second level on the ramp, looking out the 1 foot wide granite slats, while she was on the sidewalk exiting the premises.

Milton heard numerous racist remarks in his 50 lifetime games he spent in RF.

I am going to go out on a limb here and say I have been to more Cub games than anyone on this message board and 99% of Cubs fans. From learnign how to drop $1 in the Wilbus, get a transfer, getting me there and back, from my senior year in high school of attending 40 games, almost all in the bleachers, to years at DePaul, to now being a 15 year season ticket holder 10 rows off the RF wall in sect 141, being in audio distance of great taunts to milton and hearing some funny shit.

Never once have I ever heard one single racist remark blurted out. Yes, I have heard racist jokes/comments between 2 people almost said under their breath, but never once have I heard anything racist said to any person.

Still waiting for the one writer in America to write something, maybe Bob Nightengale will?

Racism is ugly either exposed or under your breath. I have not walked a mile in Milton Bradley's shoes so I don't know what he was going through. He sure did a lot of bitching though for 30 fucking million. A couple of isolated letters or drunken taunts, hey I can be angry about it all the way to the bank!

Now you're swinging to nearly the exact opposite extreme. Of course those kind of remarks have been blurted out. Of course there have been racial incidents there. They happen everywhere. That's life, unfortuately.

IMO Cub fans do themselves a great disservice by using the word "never" in these discussions.

Also just because they've cheered for players they like doesn't mean that some fans haven't made comments or sent hate mail. Just because a few drunken goofs may have made some racial comments doesn't mean everyone that goes to Wrigley or sit in the bleachers are racist. It's like some of you are defending yourselves. My guess is every fan can't hear everything that is said during a game and isn't paying attention to everything that is said. Most a enjoying a few drinks. Three of the most hated Cubs (probably in my lifetime) have had similar complaints. I'm not willing to say they are lying about everything.

I'm of the opinion that all Cub fans are racist, until proven otherwise.
I am also of the opinion that all the men in the bleachers are homosexuals, until proven otherwise. I guess that would make the modern day bleacher creatures gay racists.
What the hell has happened to my ballpark?

That's a big collection of bad right there. But you forgot my favorite, "Downtown" Roosevelt Brown.

I love remembering bad 90's Cubs players, but even I had forgotten about Ozzie Timmons.
