I seem to recall that in 2000, it was close to 80 or something like that for the opener. Although I also recall that it was a Friday, so they must have started the season on the road, so the home opener may have been a little later in the month.

In any case, 60 and sunny is pretty good. I'll take it.

I seem to remember it being right around the same conditions in 2005 too.

Being sick on opening day should help you adjust for the remainder of the Sox season. :P

Thank god Jose Contreras isn't throwing Day 1. Or any day for us, for that matter.

Tell me about. Let him be Philly's problem.

i will say this, after watching the white sox-angels game monday night, two very big issues is their defense and middle relief. pitching can be great, but if u have them dropping the ball like they have all spring, its going get ugly.

You can't really judge spring stats. Cooper has been known to tell pitchers to only throw 1 pitch in a given inning- for both starters and relievers

That said, Sox hitters are facing presumably the same type of "work on 1 pitch" from the other team so those numbers can be skewed as well.

I have never been sold on the defense being all that great.

I guess that explains the 100% changeups from Garcia.

Guy calling Ranger on Sunday night said Garcia should win 11-14 and I almost ran off the road.
Said 18-20 for Burls, "Great things" from Peavy, which I guess must mean over 15 wins. danks and Floyd with 14-16 each.
Dude like predicted over 80 wins for the starting 5. Is this what Rangers post game calls are always like?

60 wins from Buehrle, Danks, Floyd, Peavy wouldn't necessarily surprise me but I'm certainly not expecting that.
75+ wins from all 5 would.

Needless to say if the former or latter happen, this team is going to coast to a division title.
