CHICAGO -- The Chicago White Sox have hired former Chicago Bulls general manager Jerry Krause to be a baseball consultant, giving him primary duties of helping observe and revamp the team's scouting system in the Dominican Republic.

"Very smart man," White Sox manager Ozzie Guillen said Monday. "He gambled, trading for me, and he won.

"I think this guy is a very, very brilliant guy. I think he's a great baseball person, and he's going to be overlooking Latin America. I hope he finds another Ozzie Guillen."

The system in the Dominican has been under close scrutiny since former director of Latin American affairs David Wilder was accused of reportedly demanding kickbacks from Dominican prospects after inflating their values.

Krause has extensive baseball scouting experience, including having worked for the White Sox in the 1970s and '80s, before taking over as Bulls general manager.

As a scout, Krause was instrumental in the White Sox signing of both GM Ken Williams and the acquisition of Guillen.

The Bulls won six titles in the 1990s under Krause.

I wonder if Michael Jordan will start calling Free Agent Baseball players to tell them not to join the Sox.

I was hoping the POS Jordan would grow up about Krause and Reinsdorf and stop acting like a 2 year old about them once he became involved with management and ownership.

One of his most criticized statements about organizations winning championships was purposely misconstrued by the Jordan butt lickers and was absolutely right.

Uncle Jerry takes care of those who kiss the ring while under his reign. Yes, he could be much worse and he does try to do right by most people, problem is you only hear about his nice things, never hear about the people he cuts loose with no notice, no parachute, no reasons.

Fisk, Dore, Tommy Edwards, Ray Clay, even Doug Collins back in the day.

How about Danny Evans, or the entire Sox minor league system scouts? City of St Petersburg? Guys who bought BALCOR?

He expects 100% loyalty under the simple terms of no long term contracts for anyone.Even the great Kenny Williams works on 1 year deals? Ask BlackJack McDowell how he liked that?

In the end if he liked you and you never questioned him, he will probably help you out if you needed it. Question him on anything, like the contract terms he just proposed to you in his office without your agent present, then they have an issue. Agg. Bob can explain that one to you if you don't remember it.

FYI- Krause was WELL taken care of before this gig.
