Just beat it tonight, 50 hour mark.

I don't think I was too overpowered, but it didn't seem as hard as it could have been.

Opened up the final level of the Crystarium, time to do Pulse. I have a lot more hunts and such to do.

Killed a few of the little turtles (ones with no legs). Target time was 1:22 with the ATB set to both normal and slow.

Yeah, I think the target time is the same both ways but I think it counts slower if you are in slow mode...

Think I've killed about 30+ turtles and have 1 trap so far. I do have Fang's weapon maxxed out at least. Fang is hands down the best character.

I can kill turtles pretty fast. A summon will immediately knock it down. I then dismiss the summon asap and have one character debuff the turtle and the other one buffs the party while I cast death. The % chance of death landing goes up with more status ailments and more buffs on Vanille. I'd estimate the turtle dies before it gets up between one out of every two or three tries. The problem is getting your TP points back up to summon again, but I kill the smaller turtles (the ones you don't have to knock down) and cactaurs to replenish it as those things drop gold dust and cactaur dolls which sell for a decent amount as well as decent CP and then you have enough to summon again.

I just figured out that the Cactuurs can grow into two larger versions if you let them finish their dance...Giant Cactuars are giving me 20000cp with the growth egg, while the Cactuar Prime is giving me 30000 CP.

Also, shame on Square Enix for nerfing the ribbon...

Random: Instant Chain rocks my socks. Also killed a big turtle without Death or a summons today. Took 9 minutes but I'd think I could trim a minute or 2 off now I have a better idea of what paradigms work best and when. Faster than death spam finally.

I've had 3 Trap drops so have 3 top level weapons. Fang's and Lightning's are *'d and working on Vanille's. Need $ more than I need Traps at this point though. Everybody has 5 roles maxxed and are level 3 in the 6th ones. Should have them all completed soon and then finish up the hunts. Not sure if I'm interested enough to go for the platinum trophy, but so far so good.

Well everybody's Crystariums are maxxed out. Can kill a Turtle in 3-4 minutes now with no summons or death spam, life is good.

Killed the mission 64 boss. There's a few hunts I skipped over to go back and do but nothing else hard to kill except a Long Gui or whatever it's called.

I don't think there will ever be a FF game I've played more than FF:Tactics. Heck there won't be any console game ever that I'll play more than Tactics.

I think I'm at about 80 hours...approaching the most time I've put into a FF game, but I don't know if I'll reach the massive time I've logged into Oblivion...

80 hours in one month? That's like 2.5 hours every day straight. Man, I wish I had that time to game. I'm jealous.

Not on a single save, but I'm fairly certain I've put close to a 1000 hours into Oblivion...

Finished all storyline bosses, collected every weapon (including 6 zodiac spears and 3 Danjuros and 2 Masamunes), killed every mark and Esper (except Omega MK12- I might go back in and attempt that again)

Unlocked all Sky Pirate den trophies except Ambrosia (requires average party level of 50)

Lots of people have done these things...

... I should mention that Vaan is level 1 and the others are 2 and 3 (the levels they join at), completed all these events without any character leveling up at all...

Well farming all the motes, potions and items you will need is a real grind. By far the hardest part is advancing the story to Stilshrine of Miriam without killing anything but marks or storyline bosses.

Finished every trophy except the one that you need to have every item to get. Well I guess it's 2 trophies since you get a trophy for having all the other trophies. In typical FF fashion, nothing was so hard that some over-equipping and cheezing couldn't counteract the difficulty. Now there were certainly some frustrating moments and missions, but nothing worth chucking controllers around for. I guess I'll have to hunker down and exterminate turtles ad infinitum to finish it, but will take a couple of days off...probably.

So I faced my first Long Gui today...yeah, he killed me pretty quickly...did some research, and found a good strategy...was probably 10 percent away from killing him until he did the back to back Quake/Ultima attack for which I couldn't recover from...

...it would probably help if I actually leveled up Fang's weapon...

Went the cheap route and used a couple summons to drop him, and then spammed death and quickly changed to cerberus to get about 500,000 HP with the death spell...

Staring at Vanielle's ass was one of the more redeeming qualities this game had going for it...I don't know if I can support a sequel...perhaps a prequel?

Seriously though, fun game, but I really do hope if they revisit the universe, the game plays more like the final parts of the game...once you hit Pulse, the game was gold...

Got my copy from Glyde this weekend. Put about 3-4 hours into it and I'm really impressed. Graphically the game is stunning and I'm really enjoying the battle system.

Humbling to die during a tutorial boss, but I like that the game seems it could be challenging at times. Lightning kept getting one shotted.

I'm still unsure about the leveling system. All of my characters have learned all of their starting abilities in the Crystarium and I'm just piling up CP's.

I like the flexibility that any character can play any role. So far I've been rolling Lightning as a Commando, Snow as a Commando/Ravager and Vanille as a Medic/Ravager.
