Soriano replaced, probably for longer than just this game. A horrible week, both on offense and defense. He's trying really hard to lose his starting position.

About time. I really don't care if they give him some bullshit injury and DL him for a few days or ever. Votto is getting served this series.

What exactly is the logic behind pulling a 12 pitch Marshall for another lefty?
Pinch hit. check. I am a dumbass.

so the best option once grabow loads em up is to bring on the guy who walked the first 2 batters he faced the other day. These reds hitters have ants in their pants and berg seems like a good ground ball inducing pitcher.

Every member of the bullpen should be booed during introductions tomorrow, except for Marshall and Marmol.

Agree, but instead we will be 2-4 because of a really shitty bullpen. I knew this bullpen was going to be bad, but yet the guys being paid to run the team thought it would be ok. Hendry really needs to be fired asap.

Ahhh. Its Russell.

I can not say it enough. This broadcast is awesome. Brenneman is just mocking the shit out of Hendry for his pen and before for soriano.

It was something along the lines of " I just can't understand how you have teams like the yankees that spend 200 million and have a stacked roster and pen and then you have the cubs who spend 150( idk what the number was) and have grabow"

Anyone who has guys like Caridad and Grabow as set-up men, is doomed to fail. They are fine to have on your roster and pitch in the 6th inning or even 7th. But when the game is in the 8th, it should be a true set-up man pitching, like Marmol was for Wood in 2008. Like Putz and Thornton are for Jenks. Hell, some might argue either should be closers. the point is, these guys do not belong in spots where the game hangs in the balance. the Cubs might have won all 3 games in this series with a good bullpen. Instead, they will probably drop 2 of 3 now. Hendry...

Or a left fielder who can at least catch a ball, since he cannot hit it. Soriano (whom I once thought was a hitting machine) is now a check cashing machine.

I wonder how long it will take Ricketts to realize the fans want a decent pen not fucking bison meat hot dogs.

Yeah, it's a shame they don't play the guy (Colvin or Nady) that gives them the best opportunity to win, but rather the guy that makes the most coin. Just to try to justify his salary. Instead, he's just proving how ridiculous his salary is, when compared to his play. This game could have been so different if Ramirez and Byrd had come through with at least a fly ball in the first inning, after they loaded the bases with nobody out too. Unproductive outs there.

When 38,575 show up tomorrow to boo Soriano and the bullpen, eat the bison dogs and drink the neighborhood dry, Ricketts, his sister and brothers will be rolling in dollar bills in their box saying, "this is the best. Our stock market investors actually complained when we took their dough and could not show what happened to it. Now, they just keep putting it on the table asking me to to take the dough and let me be part of the crowd.

You can't forgive Soriano's awful day, but you can't strand a small army on the bases either.

I though Jarammillo was a genious. It looks like same ol same ol. Soriano could hit again if someone would teach him to put down the flintsone club and get a normal bat and step up a few inches and center yourself and hit the ball where its pitched, but instead he has his 36 inch club, is way off the plate, puts his lead foot way ahead so he can pull out and maybe hit an 85 mph fastball over the wall. He is older (and less enhanced) as he used to be, make an adjustment.

As the Cubs headed into the bottom of the 6th,I was hoping Lou would replace Soriano. End result,it did not matter. Cubs hitting sucks. The new ownership needs to toss Soriano out the door. Take the hit. Like I said in an earlier post, they should have told Sam Zell to reduce the Cubs sale by the price of the Soriano contract. There 1st piece of business should have been to cut his ass last year. Lou is a puppet. No respectable MLB manager would put up with that hack in LF.

I'd prefer Soriano not be on the team. He is though. It sucks. Cubs are fucked. Just have to hope he gets hot a couple times this year.

Even if you eat 80 percent of that contract, he isn't even worth trading for to any dh needing AL team. Why would anyone want that when Jack Cust is sitting in AAA as basically a FA.
