Nice win for the Thunder last night. Should be interesting to see if either the Bulls or Thunder can tie it up 2-2....seems that 3rd game at home is usually the one the underdog can manage to win, then usually get blown out in game 4. And I still can't believe Kobe didn't shoot a FT. That's insane.

Blazers are pretty much done I think.

I agree. Looks like the Blazers got that one emotional win, I cant see this going past 5. I'm pretty positive the Thunder will tie it at 2, and Im thinking they could win the series. Learned how to win a close playoff game last night. I think the Bulls have a shot in game 4, they've played very well this series overall.

You can help pick the sig/avatar, as I'm not a very creative person.

Yes, i would say you qualify as "in trouble" when you lose home court. i didn't say they were in dire straights, but you have to protect home court

No, the Mavs are in dire straights. They are done. We told everybody.

 We shall see

This thread has used the term dire straights too many times without referring to this:

RFDC, Guess who's about to get rocked in the dome dodgeball-style with a basketball by the best PF of all time?

No offense OKC, but it's both amusing and fitting that a guy who used to root for Malone now roots for Dirk.

No offense taken.

I only rooted for Karl Malone in '97 and '98. I really couldn't stand him. Barkley was and still is my favorite PF ever (although I agree that Duncan is the greatest PF of all time).

I just love Dirk's game and I was really sad when they broke up the trio of Dirk/Finley/Nash. I thought with a few tweaks (and a coach other than Nellie) that was a championship-caliber nucleus.

I agree, it really is a shame they got Carlisle a little late in the game. No way they lose that Finals with him as coach, even with Dirk,

Cuban, like many people, vastly underestimated the significance of the new hand check rules of '04 or '05 or whenever they changed it. That almost single handedly turned guys like Nash into All Time players.

So Kenny Smith really said that Kevin Durant will be the best player in the league in 2 years?

Thoughts?

It would be awesome if Durant/Lebron became a great rivalry.

yeah i did see that

I could see that, depending on how his body fills out. Obviously James is much stronger...but really I think that's the only advantage he has right now. He's probably a better passer but since Westbrook handles the ball more he doesn't get as many assists. He's as good of a rebounder. Durant has improved his defense, LeBron is clearly better but I think he can get there. Outside shooting is pretty comparable. FT shooting and attempts are both pretty comparable. I don't think it's a stretch, really.

Tampa Bay Rays are very good team.
Doc on the bump is beautiful
Kevin Durant can win more titles than LeBron
Gordon Beckham is going to be a 9 time all-star
I love the way Chris Johnson runs the ball
Tim Duncan is the classiest player in the NBA
Pat Hughes and Ronnie are a priceless duo
Arlington on a summers day is the best bang for your buck
TWIB is still a great prep to the game of the week
Ryan Braun has a sweet swing

More to come.......

Jason Kidd is still pretty good.
Hope the Mavs pull this one out.

So... anyone have any suggestions for RFDC's new sig/avatar? We only have 2 more games to figure it out.

Lots of basketball to play.

The bet was only signature.

I can see it too. Durant will need to keep improving on the defensive end. He's already taken great strides in that area. Scoring is comparable, although I laughed and thought of Durant when LeBron said he could win the scoring title every year if he wanted to. Durant is a much better shooter. I think he'll go 50-40-90 a few times in his career. LeBron makes up for that by being the most unstoppable finisher in the league. Durant will never get the assists Bron does, but he wont need to necessarily.

All this being said, I still consider Wade a better player right now.

Considering it is going to be 2-2 going back to Dallas, you are probably right.

I need a map to keep track of your teams. I thought you were a 76er guy? How are you a Blazer fan?

i'm adopting them while my sixers are cellar dwellers. sorry. i should have italicized "my" for blazers because they are not, in fact, belonging to me as a "fan".

my sentimental attachment: my closest friend lives in portland.

Ah, that explains why they are getting their ass kicked this series.
