Third Cousin of Captain Rectum. I think he will be good for the Bears. However, everyone needs to keep something in mind. Even though he was the Bears first pick this year, he is not a first round pick. Thank you, good night.

Can this guy tackle? I'm reading he can't. If that is true he'll fit in with our defense just fine.

What is the story on the guy the Packers took just before us?

Terry's guy said that's who the Bears wanted.

Speaking of Major Dad, I was watching some Simon and Simon the other day which of course starts the mustached hero in Major Dad. And for that reason, he will get break up 3 more passes and get 11 more tackles next season.

I just read up on Burnett and watched some footage. He looks pretty damn solid. Good in coverage and a big hitter and seems to get his hands on the ball quite a bit and can move once he does. There weren't any huge knocks on him. He is young as a true Junior and he could occasionally take bad angles, but not always. He seems athletic and instinctive enough to take the right angle and be in the right place, he just didn't sometimes, but most times he did. Wouldn't be surprised if he started over Bigby.

Burnett is going to be a player. I'm surprised he lasted that long.

Scouts says he's at least a good tackler.

I understand he has a "Tebow effect" on the defense.

Urban Meyer said that. Urban Meyer is kinda weird.

B & B should have some interesting comments on this development.

Burnett is locked into SS where Wright could play both FS and SS. Wright is better in pass coverage than Burnett. Burnett is your prototypical SS where he likes to be the 8th man in the box and hit RBs where as Wright is a traditional FS to play in the Cover 2 and make tackles.

So the Bears #1 draft pick is a guy who was benched the last 2 games in Florida last year, & their #2 pick is a guy who had a serious knee injury. Sounds like another typical Angelo/Lovie draft.

You never answered my question. How much Central Michigan football did you watch over the past four years?

Holy shit. As much as I love Dan Lefevour, I'm not so sure that was a smart pick for the Bears. The Bears need OL & WR's...why pick a QB?

My thoughts from a different thread - Dan LeFevour - QB - I know you may all disagree with this, but Caleb Hanie in the lineup marks the end of our season without a doubt. LeFevour was being talked about as the 3rd best QB in this class. He's a prototypical pocket passer, tough kid, intelligent, and has experience in the spread with multiple receiver formations running all over the field. Because of that, he's capable of making snap decisions, has a decent arm, and gets the ball out of his hand in a hurry. I like him as a long term developmental backup in Martz's system.

It just seems to me that the Bears are going out of their way to make homer picks. First Corey Wooten & now Dan Lefevour. Must be a UofI or NIU player pick coming soon!

I just checked about 10 different QB ranking lists, & Lefevour typically is ranked between #5 & #8.
I found just 1 list that ranked him 3rd.
Some scouts compare Lefevour to Tebow since they both play in similar spread Offenses & operate from the shotgun alot. Both Lefevour & Tebow face the same transitional issues going to the NFL & getting comfortable under center. Lefevour is fast for a big guy with a 4.60 40 time, which is faster than the other top 38 QB's, for whatever thats worth.
I still think the Bears would have been better off bringing in a veteran backup QB & using this draft pick on an OL or WR.

If only he had the intangibles and mental makeup of Tebow.
