Tue 7:05 CSN
(L) M. Buehrle (2-2, 4.56)
vs.
(L) C.J. Wilson (1-1, 1.37)

Wed 7:05 CSN
(R) J. Peavy (0-1, 7.66)
vs.
(R) R. Harden (0-1, 4.58)

Thur 1:05 CSN
(R) G. Floyd (0-2, 8.38)
vs.
(R) S. Feldman (1-2, 5.40)

Sox need a pair of struggling righties, Peavy and Floyd, to get on track. Rich Harden is throwing a TON of pitches and not going very long in his starts, something that may sound familiar to Cub fans. Wilson is a converted closer who is pitching well early. Feldman flew under the radar a bit last year, going a decent 17-8 with a 4.06 ERA.

Peavy is really getting shelled this year.

Thats what happens when you don't throw strikes.

Floyd pitched pretty well against the M's. Peavy just needs to have a quality start, and the Sox need to win another series.

Peavy's command is really screwed up at the moment, he has as many walks (15) as Ks. You always expect that with a guy coming off injury, however in his case it was a leg injury, and he looked good in 3 starts at the end of last year.

I can't definitively say he's hurt, as his velocity is actually up around 93-94. He may be overthrowing a bit, as his better fastballs are the 90-91 mph runners (probably the 2-seamer). I'm inclined to think it's something mechanical, Cooper can work with him on some video and straighten this guy out.

He's not throwing strikes. Everybody that pitches to 2-0, 2-1, 3-1 counts all the time would have a high ERA too.

Again with this?

Describing the manner in which he's getting shelled doesnt negate said Shellery.

Not getting ahead in the count= Part of the problem.

Yes again. He's getting shelled because he isn't getting ahead in the count, not because he is hurt as many people are suggesting.

Oh, so your argument is Yes he's getting shelled but No he's not hurt.

Got it.

Came off a little differently.

I dont think he's hurt either.

The SCORE's Matt "The Dancing Fool" Rodewald reported in his 2:30p "Scoreboard Update" that the Jerry "The King" Lawler-looking Don Cooper will not be attending this three-game series at the Ballpark in Arlington, TX. The White Sox pitching coach is attending to a "personal matter", and should be back in the dugout this weekend when the White Sox visit the Bronx to face the World Champion Yankees. Bullpen coach Juan Nieves will serve as acting pitching coach in this series at Texas. The Sox have also announced that the Dwayne "The Rock" Johnson-looking Freddy Garcia starts the Saturday afternoon game at Yankee Stadium.

Who will act as bullpen coach, and who will keep Ron Washington away from the baselines?

I am gonna want to watch the Peavy/Harden game. I liked Harden with the Cubs, but agreed with not bringing him back. He was/is too fragile and having to skip turns in the rotation, screws up the bullpen. then you have to spot start a guy like Marshall and then he's unavailable for a couple days afterwards. Plus, you figure that the spot start will go no more than 5 innings, so that means you wind up using 3-4 or more pitchers out of the pen-not idealBut that should be a good game...providing Peavy pitches more like he should and less like he has so far.

Justin Smoak isn't hitting (yet) but this guy is going to a MONSTER. There are a lot of guys from the '08 draft are making it to the bigs in a hurry and making big impacts. That may be the best of the decade.

Even though the Ranger tries extremely hard to explain what a hitting coach REALLY does, it somehow goes from one ear and out the other among White Sox fans who call into the "Comcast Feedback Zone Postgame Show". That being said, you don't have to be the Ranger to know that hitting coach Greg Walker's seat is getting awfully, awfully warm as the White Sox continue to lose games like this. If Ozzie doesn't shake up his starting lineup as soon as tomorrow, Walker may take the fall for the White Sox frustrating start pretty soon.

Juan Pierre is struggling as this team's leadoff hitter, with a BA around .200, with second baseman Gordon Beckham hitting around .210 after going hitless tonight in Texas. These two probably need to move down in the lineup for the short term, while Alex Rios should hit 3rd if Ozzie indeed shuffled the lineup...Your leadoff hitter, in my opinion, should be Alexei Ramirez. Yeah, I know he frustrates the hell out of fans with his sometimes sloppy defense, but he has speed and can definitely get on base. The one time Alexei led off for the Sox, I remember he had 4 hits in a game at Baltimore. Ozzie's got to do something before this season gets away...

No way do you move Alexei to leadoff.

Yeah, enough with the Missile to leadoff. Granted in one game he had some hits, but he doesn't take any pitches and rarely walks. He's better off down in the order where he might get some vulture RBI.

If Alexei doesn't leadoff, who should? Juan Pierre's been a flop as a leadoff hitter and Gordon Beckham's BA is now down to .205 in the #2 spot after going 0-for-3 with a run scored in last night's 4-2 loss to the Rangers. By the way, Omar Vizquel's not much better, hitting .100 in limited action. Besides, the #11 Vizquel currently sports has to go too! Ozzie needs to shake up his starting lineup and quick before this season gets away!

There are not a lot of good candidates besides the balck French guy and his zero extra base hits. I don't think the order is as important as who is in it. Thought I heard Ranger on the Danny Mac show saying that Lucy and Nix are in the lineup tonight. Let's just hope they keep running Jones out there and Kotsay is nailed to the bench.

I'm going to put the over/under on relievers used in this game at 6 1/2.

Harden has been walking over a guy an inning, and we know of Peavy's struggles...

Here's your White Sox lineup for tonight vs. Rich Harden and the Rangers at the Ballpark in Arlington, TX. You'll notice two guys in particular not in the lineup and two others who I've already seen enough of...
1 Juan Pierre LF
11 Omar "What was wrong w/#17?" Vizquel 2B
51 Alex Rios CF
14 Paul Konerko DH
23 Mark Teahen 3B
20 Carlos Quentin RF
7 Mark Kotsay 1B
12 A.J. Pierzynski C
10 Alexei Ramirez SS

You'll notice Gordon Beckham, 3 for his last 44, isn't in the lineup, but Omar Vizquel's only hitting .100. Believe it or not, Jayson Nix is hitting .250 in very, very limited action...Andruw Jones went 0-for-3 as the DH last night in their 4-2 loss in Texas.

I'm so happy Ozzie has the team he wanted. 1st and 3rd with one out with one of his better base stealers on 1st and his best contact man at the plate. Ozzie can hit and run or straight steal but instead he does nothing and Konerko hits into a double play. It would be nice to see some action behind all that bullshit talk.

Joe Cowley is just pounding the Sox. Peavy looks like he is a shell of his former self. How many years are we stuck with this guy? Yikes!

This shitfuck has walked 3 and hit two batters and the Sox haven't been close to scoring a run. Lovin the flexible lineup Ozzie.

Peavy has retired ten batters in a row, too bad it's after giving up 5 fucking runs.

This is a dumb question I'm sure but, do most teams lack the plate discipline that the Sox exhibit?

They seem to swing at every fucking pitch.
