That's what I love about Cubs fans. You always look for the bright side. :D

In ever, Jerry, in ever.

Did you expect many extra base hits from him?? If so, that was silly. He's a punch and Judy hitter with too little punch and far too much Judy. He's a great bunter, a very good base stealer too. But I told all the Sox fans he would struggle. You have a guy that traditionally starts slowly anyway. You put him in a league where he is unfamiliar with many of the pitchers and the quality of pitching perhaps a bit higher....add a bit of extra pressure from the expectations fans have for him here and good luck... The guy has hit for average at times. Hell, he was over .300 last season. But still his OBP was low, because he follows the rule " Thou Shalt Not Pass" too well. As I predicted when he was aquired, I will not be surprised if he is replaced as a starter, prior to the All-Star break. Ozzie wanted a team capable of playing small ball. But the guys Kenny got him to do it, were the wrong ones in some cases. Vizquel and Pierre were mistakes and trading Getz was a mistake. They would be better off with him at 2nd base and Beckham still at 3rd. This thing is going horribly wrong. The Beckham struggles I find hardest to understand. Perhaps he's putting too much pressure on himself. He looked like a sure star of the future (still may well be) who's confidence now seems thoroughly shaken.

Don't they have to trade AJ by sometime in June?

As far as I know, A.J. becomes a "10/5" guy around June 14th. In baseball labor lingo, that means Anthony John Pierzynski becomes a 10 year MLB veteran with 5 years on the same team. He would then be able to refuse any trade. However, his contract is almost up and the White Sox were unable to reach an extension in the offseason with A.J. I think he can help a contending ballclub despite his inability to throw runners out and wouldn't be shocked if the #12 becomes available at the MLB Trade Deadline.

The part of this that I'm not so sure about is whether the just re-activated Ramon Castro and Donny Lucy, currently back at Triple "A" Charlotte, cover the catching duties in the event Pierzynski gets dealt. Despite currently hitting .275 with 4 homers & 22 RBI's for the Triple "A" Knights, I'm not so sure Tyler Flowers is ready to take over the full-time catching duties. Besides, Ozzie thought Donny did a good job catching his veteran pitching staff when called upon before being demoted last week.

Gavin's curveball looks good today. Hopefully they can get a couple runs off Cy Romero and the Sox can split this series and win the homestand.

I'm not viewing the game, any adjustments to the Pierre Suck-O-Meter?

Nada. Not unless you consider getting hit by a pitch an extra base hit.

Any bets on who closes this game? Jenks or Castro?

If Jenks, how many runs does he give up?

Castro?

If you mean Santos, he just pitched the 9th last night and finally gave up a meaningless run. Ozzie doesn't seem to use him in consecutive games at this point.

Jenks will lose this game. If he does, bring in Santos next time.

What a fucking piece of shit. Jenks should never see the field unless there is a 4-5 run cushion.

I'm starting to get my mind around the evidence is mounting that he might be cooked. Done. Used up.

Change of scenery...

They need to trot out Putz and Santos to begin to fill that void. Jenks has been straight up worthless for over the last two years. They need to trade him if possible.

He has cost the Sox numerous games with piss poor pitching. His only fucking job is to throw strikes and work an inning.

He has to go.

Only 2 appearances this year with nobody reaching base, and neither of those were save situations.

2 out of 13 appearances!

Pathetic.
