I don't think Jenks is cooked and I'm sure he'll get good again some time. My bigger problem- and it seems to be a baseball protocol, not just a silly Guillen concept- is the idea that you have to die with your closer. The guy is in the game, he doesn't have it, but it's like you're helpless. He's the last man. Why can't you see him give up a homer and a single and get him the fuck out? You know he's shaky right now. If you want to close with him, fine, but have another guy up and ready. Ozzie never hesitates to point out that Beckham isn't bigger than the team. Why does Jenks have to be?

Thats a good point, but in the Sox case yesterday I think the only other guy at this point that should be used as a "closer" is Thornton, and he was already used in the game.

I don't know if he's cooked or not, and I had been in Bobby's corner for the most part, but when your closer comes in and gives up 3 runs and 4 hits before he even gets an out, there is no excuse.

Maybe part of the problem is that Jenks might literally be bigger than the team. Maybe his problems aren't from fitness, but it can't help.

Also nobody has seemed to mention that when your starter gives up 5 runs in 5 innings, you aren't too likely to win many of those games. Sox offense finally bailed out a poor start, but still an ugly effort overall from the pitching staff.

Yes. He is reaching planet-sized proportions.

Must be a pretty heavy beard he is sporting then because to me he doesn't look all that different from when he came up in 2005.

Fuck Gavin Floyd. Seriously. This clown is turning out to be a One Year Wonder and that's about. I would change the station with the White Sox scoring runs and taking the lead and 5 min. later I would switch back and Gavin would give all the runs back and then some.

Good Grief!

Then you are blind. He has to be close to 300 pounds right now.
