Dallas wide receiver Patrick Crayton is going to take his option and not attend OTAs this week, according to his agent Fred Lyles. Crayton has been given permission to seek a trade since the Cowboys chose Dez Bryant in the first round of last month's draft. ... "In no way is Patrick sending a message to the Cowboys," said Lyles, who added he told the team Crayton's decision last week. "He will fulfill any and all obligations of his contract."

dude is a decent receiver and has some speed. Also returns kicks, but the Bears are ok in that dept.

SPLIT REC YDS AVG LNG TD
2009 37 622 16.8 80 5
Career 196 2888 14.7 80 23

Northern Illinois' own...Sam Hurd is likely available as well, but I'd take crayton over hurd in a heartbeat.

Crayton has a big contract. I was one of the people who was advocating getting him a couple of years ago. He's a good receiver with a lot of talents. However, I'm not sure he is a difference maker. At this point I either want TO or just let the guys the Bears have develop.

You think TO has anything significant left to contribute?

Either way, the Bears are not good. I'll take my mediocrity straight up please. I don't need (or want) the distraction of a TO sideshow.

Thats what I was thinking. It would basically be a rerun of last season in Buffalo, except that Jay Cutler is probably a little better than Trent Edwards.

In his limited showing last year, Aromashadu looks like he can contribute as much as Crayton.

Come on FF. Edwards is brutal. I get that Cutler isn't an elite QB, but he is worlds better than Edwards. Cutler threw 3 more TDs last season than Edwards has for his entire career.

So we agree. Cutler is probably better.

Thats like saying Brett Farve is "probably" a Hall of Famer.

It will be the one wearing a Vikings jersey, and you knew exactly what I meant. I spell his name like he pronounces it.

If this is how he wants to be remembered, that's fine.
