A familiar voice is coming back this weekend to work the remainder of the White Sox current road trip. Tom "Wimpy" Paciorek has been pressed into service to work this weekend's 3 game series in Kansas City and the 2 game series next Monday & Tuesday in Detroit with Ed Farmer on 670 The SCORE & the TOYOTA Chicago White Sox Radio Network. Paciorek, who worked Sox games with Ken Harrelson about a decade ago on the TV side, pinch hits for regular radio analyst Darrin Jackson while he continues to attend to some personal matters.

What the hell is this?

Normally you would not only know his name, but you would tell me who he looks like/sounds like and what he will be having for dinner tonight.

WE'RE ALL GONNA DIE!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

That's one of the pop culture references of Randy Moller, the radio voice of the Florida Panthers, who continues to be heard all the time on "B & B", especially at the end of the show.

I remember the long story whimpy was telling Hawk about bats and the kind of wood they are made of. Whimpy went on and on about the special forests and you could feel Hawk thinking WTF? Then Whimpy lays on him "well good ash is hard to find". Hawk lost it for about an inning. Thought he was gonna bust his gut open.

Whimpy made Hawk tolerable. I liked that team.

I regret that I missed those two games both on tv and radio.

Actually listening to Ranger made me realize how bad DJ is at his job. Ranger had as good as insights as I've ever heard from Darrin and his chemistry with Farmer was great (which might creep me out a little if I was the Ranger). He did a good job.

Looking forward to hearing the Wimperoo. As a Cubs fan, I would love for Wimpy to replace Santo permanently, starting ASAP.

Actually, whenever the Ranger has been pressed into service, he's done a very good job and nearly called a Gavin Floyd no-hitter. How 'bout that?

That being said, Ranger's got a prior committment tomorrow night with the "Lowe's Pregame" at 6:35p & the "Comcast Feedback Zone Postgame" live from The Game Sports Bar at Blue Chip Casino in Northwest Indiana on 670 The SCORE & the TOYOTA Chicago White Sox Radio Network. Frank Thomas joins Ken Harrelson on the TV side this weekend while Steve Stone's on vacation. Does this mean Steve will be off the "Boers & Bernstein" show tomorrow at 2p? I'm not sure...

Either Wimpy is really good, or the DJ/Farmio combo is really bad....or a mixture of both because I'm really enjoying Paciorek on the radio right now.

Spmack, White Sox fans deserve better on the radio side. Ed Farmer is no John Rooney, even though he and John worked for 17 years together before the Sox moved from ESPN Radio 1000 to WSCR 670 The SCORE following the 2005 World Series title season. I wasn't a Darrin Jackson fan when he & Ken Harrelson worked together on the TV side for many years after Tom Paciorek left. "Wimpy" never should have left the booth...

Had the radio on in years. Now it can go back in the closet with that boring no talent Farmer on with DJ. Bring Rooney back and send Farmer out to the farm. God he's bad.

Ed definitely thanked Tom in the bottom 7th of today's game for his work on short notice. I'm hopeful "Wimpy" gets another opportunity to call the White Sox again real, real soon. In what sounds like a lost White Sox season, it's been good to hear the former #44 calling the games the last few days.

It was a very enjoyable listen today with Farmer and Wimpy. It sounded like they have been doing games for years. Even when Rongey was doing games with Farmer, he sounded pretty good. DJ just doesn't have any chemistry with his partners, plus he tries to turn into a mini stand up act and it sounds very uncomfortable. It is unfortunate that his mother passed, but his time away has shown that there are better options for a partner for Farmer, if he is going to remain the play-by-play guy.

I enjoyed hearing Tom Paciorek's analysis the last few days, even though the White Sox didn't given "Wimpy" much to cheer about subbing for Darrin Jackson alongside Ed Farmer. I wish Sox V.P. of Marketing & Broadcasting Brooks Boyer would wake up and smell the coffee and upgrade the team's broadcasts. White Sox fans who tune in to 670 The SCORE and the stations along the TOYOTA Chicago White Sox Radio Network deserve a much better, more professional sound. Ed has proven time & time again he's no John Rooney, and I sometimes think that there are times when Ed doesn't want to hear a word from D.J., no matter how hard Jackson tries to lighten things up during the game.

The majority of my pro sports contact is via radio, and the last few Sox games have been GREAT! It may be that a new voice just perks up the ears or perhaps Tommy P talks more to make Farmio talk less- either way I thoroughly enjoyed his few games. Condolences to DJ for sure, but Wimpy could fit into any of the 4 booths in town.
