DVR is the only way to watch the show. With all the commercials and crap I don't want to watch (Justin Beiber tonight), it makes for a quick watch.

This is the first season that I have watched pretty much all of the show and it seems like it's flawed a little. Once you get to the final 3 or 4, the suspense is really over because there isn't much on the line. I don't think it makes much difference from here on out in the long-term success of the contestants. They're going to have a music career or they're not, whether it's 1st, 2nd, 3rd, etc.

I hope that no-talent hayseed Casey wins. This show blows. Cara Dioguardi's brain is a vestigial organ.

The sooner I can visit my parents without "VOTE FOR LEE!!!" plastered on every store and every block the better!

VFTW was looking for the worst performances ever (though you have to pick from their list.) Here's my top 6:

6) Mikalah Gordon – Young Hearts Run Free --- the adlib makes this even more special - http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=HTCYrQwttqU

5) Camile Velasco – Goodbye Yellow Brick Road --- these are the right lyrics? right?? -http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=kSUr384SOS4

4) Alex Wagner-Trugman – I Guess That’s Why they Call It the Blues --- Elton John is hard to pull off (that's what he said) - http://idol-mania.com/american-idol-fan/2009/03/03/alex-wagner-trugman-i-guess-that%E2%80%99s-why-they-call-it-the-blues-video/

3) Juanita Barber – What About the Children --- as much for the performance as the after performance - http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=Md9adTiAT8E

2) John Stevens – Crocodile Rock --- this is abysmal, but I have one that I like even worse - URL linked to earlier in thread or else google, you lazy MFer.

1) Ryan Starr – You Really Got Me --- from Season 1, horrible version which makes me want to stuff C4 in my ears - http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=Ounjiv_Pm2U

I thought that kid was actually going to vomit on stage for the finale.

That would have been a fantastic finish. :puker:

Slight surprise with Lee walking away with the title, but I think it has
been proven that winning the show guarantees you next to nothing.
I think Bowersox will have the better career after the show. DeWyze
had a good run but he looked nervous as hell on both shows this week.
Never underestimate the voting and texting power of girls aged 9 - 16
in the Chicago area, that could have won it for him. Decent season
overall, it will be a much different show without Simon. He is doing the
right thing by getting out now in my opinion. You may not like him but
he sure seems to know what he is doing these last 10 years.

I think that's a problem with the show. There isn't much drama when it comes down to the final 4 or so. At that point, they have all had their "big break" and will be given a chance to continue their careers. I think 'Daughtry' (sp?) is the 3rd highest in 'Idol' record sales and he finished 4th ot 5th his season. Even last night, it was an hour and 50 minutes of commercials, singing, 'so long Simon' and then "oh, by the way, Lee wins".

Of course, what do I know, I'm sure they had a billion people watching. Also, when they had all the past winners come out on stage there were 7 people. I think this was season 9. Who was missing? Someone in jail or something?

I don't know who was missing but OKC will be happy to know that Kelly
Clarkson was looking exceptionally fleshy and frumpy last night. I'll
try to track down a photo and post it up.

Pretty sure that David Cook dude from 2 seasons ago was MIA last night.

T-Bone...I agree 100% with your analysis of crystal & lee, the teeny bopper texters and so forth. The show eventually gets down to a popularity contest rather than a singing contest.

I wonder if they had enough handicap parking for all the ancient acts that rolled out last night.

List of guys that revealed they can't sing anymore -

Chicago
Michael McDonald
Darryl Hall
The Bee Gees

My GF was watching this last night and that was my first though. Really no one relevant to any of the target audience of this show. Pretty sure Joe Cocker fought off a significant heart attack while singing I Get By With a Little Help from my Friends

Yeah, but Joe still sounded like that 30 years ago.
