Interesting stat - In his 68 career games, Gale Sayers had 20 or more carries only 10 times.

At least he had a longer career than Brian Piccolo or Chris Henry.

He's not durable. He's injury prone. He shies away from contact. He is a finesse back. He has a high floor and a low ceiling.

Other backs 20+ carry games through the first 68 games of their careers -

Walter Payton (hmmmm....good man) - 37
Barry Sanders - 34
Warrick Dunn - 11

Seriously???? Sandy Koufax? THe best left-handed pitcher to play the game. You wanna use Sandy Koufax? All I can say is WOW!!!! So Emmitt Smith? nothing? Walter Payton is what? Rollie Fingers? (Randy Johnson is next best lefty pitcher.)

How is a guy who had four years the "best left-handed pitcher to play the game"? Did you forget about Warren Spahn and Lefty Grove? I might suggest that Carlton was better as well. But the fact is, that like Gale Sayers, Koufax burned brightly for a short time before his career ended in an untimely fashion.

Could someone ask the new mexico mumbling hayseed inseminator how many titles he has won?

Here's some advice Brian: STFU

Your team has sucked for a few years now. How about winning something and the bitching will stop.

You mumblefuck.

This is a question that probably honestly can't answer but is someone injury prone or simply unlucky?

I mean, Grant Hill was the model example of an injury prone player but he's still in the league and performing well. Did he suddenly lose his injury prone-ness or do you simply get unlucky in succession?

It probably has something to do with body type but some big running backs(Curtis Enis, Kijana Carter) had problems too.

I think the major issue with calling someone injury prone is that you always do it after the fact.

I'm not saying it doesn't exist because it is clear that some people have a much higher rate of missing games due to injury than others.

Mark Prior was just hit with a line drive off his pitching shoulder. He's being shut down for three weeks. Sound like 2006 or 2007? It was in Thursdays Trib.
