When the White Sox host the Rangers at U.S. Cellular Field tonight, third baseman Mark Teahen will not be available. A broken index finger on Teahen's throwing hand sends him to the 15 day DL. While it likely means Jayson Nix & Omar Vizquel covers the tabs at third starting tonight, the Sox have called up one of the few hitters actually hitting at Triple "A" Charlotte. Unfortunately, when Brent Lillibridge has been called upon, he's done very little at the big league level. Lillibridge, who was hitting .270 for the Knights, takes Teahen's roster spot, but will likely backup 2B Gordon Beckham & SS Alexei Ramirez for the immediate future.

Batting .270 in triple A is hitting?

It's only a matter of time until they re-sign Jermaine Dye.

Teahen was really hitting as of late (.368 over his last 12 games) but they certainly won't miss his glove at 3B. Will be be ready when he's eligible to come off the DL?

Before he broke his index finger Sunday vs. the Rays, Mark Teahen may have been one of the hottest hitters in the White Sox lineup, but his defense was so bad, Omar Vizquel was being inserted for late game defense at third base during the just concluded road trip. Although Teahen was placed on the 15-day DL today, Keyser, it's believed #23 could actually be out of action between 4 to 6 weeks.
