Agreed. It was funny, but people carry on about this movie like it's Caddyshack or Animal House.

+1

I've seen this movie 3 times, and does not get better with each viewing. Can't wait for the sequel.

Not that the Hangover is the best movie ever but I don't think either Caddyshack or Animal house are that funny.

Animal House blows.

Does a movie have to get better with every viewing in order to be considered funny?

Caddyshack is one of the best comedies ever. Animal House is funny, but its overrated much moreso than the Hangover.

Animal House and Caddyshack are damn near 30 year old movies ... how do you rate it against an Old School or an Anchorman?

anything with Bill Murray is WAAAYYYY over-rated, especially Caddyshack and Groundhog Day.

Caddyshack is still pretty good. I don't laugh at it anymore but don't turn it
off when it is on. Maybe you have to be a bit of a gopher to get some of it.
Just rewatched The Hangover this past week as it is running on HBO and I
didn't laugh once. The little Chinese guy is still the best part of that movie.

Caddyshack, Animal House & Slap Shot all blow. Not overrated, they just blow.

I like plenty of old comedies, but I am sick of hearing about how these movies are the best...

What I meant spanky is while I thought it was funny, it isn't going to reach cult status for me. I didn't watch it the second time and laugh harder, nor did I find myself hearing lines that I missed the first time or laughed over the first time. The sign of a great movie for me is if I come across it on TV will I stop and finish watching it no matter where it is in the movie? The Hangover isn't that kind of movie for me, as opposed to The Godfather, GoodFellas, Vacation, or Anchorman. For me, I still would take Tommy Boy over The Hangover.

Now that we're on the subject of overrated we can put Chris Farley on that list. For me, the Hangover is better than any movie he's made.

Caddyshack is still a classic to me. The Big Lebowski is one of the funniest movies I've ever seen too, better than Animal House for sure imo
