I am a fan, I see the strategies, but I agree with something Bernstein said about the sport that Luck plays a huge factor in Hockey more than any other sport. However, the better you play and more shots on goal your odds of winning are better.

Last night I think the Hawks hit the post 6 times. Hitting the post even an inch more one way or the other is the difference between a goal or not. The puck rolling in off a player, etc.
