I was going to create a quick poll for us to see which league is more popular (Doug's league not withstanding ). It appears that my status on this board does not make me poll worthy . Maybe I am just incompetent. Both are entirely plausible. Be that as it may, why doesn't someone start a poll (Krazy Ivan?) to see which game is going to garner greater interest amongst board members?

NBC = NHL Stanley Cup starting at 7 PM
ABC = NBA Finals starting at 7 PM.

In Chicago, the Hawks game will kill in the ratings...

But overall, the NBA game will have much higher ratings.

I'll be switching back and forth, with an emphasis on the Hawks game.

Nationally I agree. But what about the chaps here? There is a pretty hardcore contingent of NBA guys and NHL guys. Then there is Zizou and Dr. Ken types focusing on other sportz. We are in Chicago so I assume most would tune in to the Hawks. But then Mr. Ivan went a little Krazy against all things puck, so who knows.

I agree with Spmack on this one, especially in regards to the overall ratings for the games going head-to-head. While Chicagoans everywhere will be tuned into NBC Sports' HD coverage of the crucial Game 5 of the Blackhawks/Flyers' NHL Stanley Cup Final, I'll be very interested to see what kind of rating ABC Sports (ESPN on ABC) will do with the Celtics/Lakers in Game 2 of the NBA Finals, not just in Chicago, but across America.

Game 1 did a good rating for the Celics vs Lakers, I will be watching the Hawks.

Hawks all the way. I hate the fucking NBA.
