Not in the mood to spilt hairs with ya Frank. Needless to say I think I've seen about 1.4. million people in Hawks gear the last few weeks. Mr. Hubble of Triple Threat Sports fame was seen driving a new Benz last week so things are good in the Hawks fandom world.

Again, buying Hawks garb and watching the games, now esepcially, does not necessarily mean fans.

I'm not saying ratings and buying a jersey is a bad thing.

I'm saying that the guy who didn't care about hockey 8 weeks ago, and now watches every game and bought 2 jerseys is not a "fan" in the true sense of the word. He's a bandwagoner. Stink, Slappy, spanky, etc are fans.

And yes I know this happens in all sports.
