I have to watch college baseball with the sound off. I just can't stand the sound of the ball off the bat. It's not natural.

TCU staved off elimination by defeating UCLA 6-2 behind the pitching of Matt Purke (6.1 IP 3 H 2 ER 2 BB 2 K's) and the hitting of Taylor Featherston (2-2 HR 3 RBI). Purke (he's a goofy lookin bastard) is now 16-0 on the season and he's a freakin freshman. Unbelievable.

South Carolina also staved off elimination by defeating Clemson 5-1 behind the pitching of Micheal Roth (9 IP 3 H 1 ER 1 BB 4 K's) and the hitting of Jackie Bradley Jr ( 1-3 2 RBI). Everytime I see this kid I think Tony Gwynn with power.

Saturday's TV schedule:

TCU vs UCLA 1:00pm ESPN2 (elimination game)

Clemson vs South Carolina 6:00pm ESPN (elimination game)

I wish it was just a one game final, but I will go with UCLA to win and I will say a sweep.

Yeah I really underestimated UCLA's pitching staff. They could sweep the series but South Carolina always seems to find a way to win close ballgames. Should be a great series.

South Carolina defeated UCLA in the first game of the 3 game series 7-1 behind the pitching of senior Blake Cooper ( 8 IP 3H 1ER 1BB 10K's) and the hitting of senior Bobby Haney (2-3 3 RBI). Cooper was working on 3 days rest and Haney is known for his glove (SS) and not his bat.

Game 2 will be played Tuesday night at 6:30 on ESPN.
