I will say one thing to Redneckmommy:

You got there a little late. I ended up getting there about 3:30 give or take, and there were 3 tubs full of beer there. Yeah, it went quick but I thought there was ample beer and food available-- esepcially at the cost of $0 8)

The real reason I bring my own stuff, including some food, is I'm not consumig wheat products.

Panther was there? I was probably standing right next to him at some point and didn't realize it.

You are funnier than I thought. Do you know how much I hate Elsie?

I fall way below your high standards. You weren't quite what I expected but I don't think either of us are totally disappointed.

Who even knew that they sell wine by the plastic cup at a baseball game? But, it's true, Jeff was drinking it.

With a straw. :D

I saw one of you bringing up a glass of wine. I was hoping you had found some women. You two make a nice couple.

I was a little reluctant while walking up. I didn't know anyone and everyone seemed deep in conversations. After walking up and back a few times I finally decided to jump in. I saw doug, who seems like the maitre' de of the board, so I figured it would be a good place to start. I walked right up to him and reintroduced myself. I was wearing the same exact clothes that I wore the first time I met him a couple of years ago.

I got introduced around pretty well. I had long conversations with rjboyd, eaglo, bigfan, rogers park and spaulding. It really wasn't like meeting new people, although I probably could not put a name to a face if any but doug or spaulding walked up to me on the street tomorrow.

The Balck Lodge seemed to shy away from me for some reason. I must have been dripping with white entitlement.

I wasn't really sure I wanted to meet any of the on air talent but bigfan has a way of taking you in directions you might not ordinarily go. Anyway, he introduced me to Dan. Now I wouldn't say Mac is my hero, but I have been listening to the guy pretty much since I was in high school. I like him, but he wouldn't know me so it's like a voyeuristic realtionship...like if I met Phoebe Cates. I've met popes and presidents so it wasn't like I was in awe, but it was cool. The conversation never really went into the fan realm, as we have a lot in common beyond sports talk radio.

My Speigel experience was a little different. Being the original and sole member of the Speigal ALS I thought I should at least introduce myself. Unfortunately it was late in the day. I had a couple and he was probably ready to wind down the day. He was in an embrace and lip lock with his girlfriend and I just kind of walked up like a cock blocking friend at a pick up bar. It didn't get beyond an awkward "hi". Honestly, I would have treated me the same way.

Slap Shot Ed seemed to be the life of the party. As I walked up he was doing an ass fuck pantomime with Dan that had everyone laughing. He seemed to know everyone so I didn't want to break in to a conversation and introduce myself. I thought he was Bill Simonsin when I first saw him.

I had fun. I would do it again.

Are you dying or something?

First, you're having lunch with board members and then attending events. Is it just senility?

Oy...

There really was no Balck Lodge to speak of. Two people does not constitute a "Lodge." Anyway, I was too busy soaking in Aggravated Bob's awesomeness.
