Whooo! I hope you're right. I will refrain from making a prediction, after making my only prediction of the year prior to the Dolphins game.

As good of a spot as it was for the Bears vs. the Giants, next week vs. Jets is a not so good spot. There are several reasons, having more to do with the situational factors than the fundamental ones. Bears love will get re-energized again this week, expectations will again begin to get out of whack, Bears players will get to feeling fat and happy by week's end, a little look-ahead to New england will creep in and the end result is that the Bears could be flat as a thin sandwich between Giants and New England. And if you think there's no way that can happen, you haven't been paying attention in the NFL.

Not sure I'll be taking points with the Jets, but I certainly won't be laying any with the Bears in this spot. Line is 7 now and if it gets to 10, reflecting public pounding of the Bears at the window, I'll be thinking green.

BEARS 34
JETS 13

Bears O woke up last night.
Jets coming off an emotional victory will come out flat.
    Grossman 2 TDs.
    Bears defensive TD.
    Tommie Harris 2 sacks.
Urlacher will tip a ball that Vasher intercepts but it will be overturned upon review.
Lovie's headset will start to cut out on him in the third quarter and it will need to be replaced.
The Gatorade will taste a little funky.

That's how I see it playing out.

Gould misses his first FG. He hits his first real "pressure" kick of the year late in the 4th. See-saw afternoon goes the Bears' way.

edit- i wrote more..but for some reason it didnt post it all..

interesting Frank....
i had those thoughts for the Giants game. I think you could be right.
which is scary...b/c if it's 27-24, then i suspect Rex is throwing the ball away or the guys still have a case of the fumbles.....

4 guys put the ball on the carpet yesterday. Tillman's wasn't counted, but he was stripped.....

Right. But, if Tillman hangs onto the ball, it counts (the Bears would decline the penalty).

JETS - 21
BEARS - 10

Why:
T.Brady couldn't beat the Jets Blitz. How do you think Rex will?

Poor run D

After a 3 sack performance, Alex Brown publicly displays his affection for Giants Stadium by making love to the goal post after the game.

i didn't watch the game but i heard it was a sloppy/rainy game which contributed to new englands lack of offense. i think the bears will be ok. hopefully they're practicing the shotgun more this week.

If the Bears use the shotgun exclusively, bench Rex in favor of Griese, and use a lot more screen plays, the anticipated Bear weather should be enough for a big win.

Just make sure to bring your lunchbox, because it will take a meat 'n' potatoes, blue collar kind of effort to win this game!

Frankly, I don't care if the Bears win. I just want the Jets to feel the pain for the next week. They'll know they played the BEARS!

Bears = 30
J-E-T-S = 17

Kevin Barlow runs well, but Rex shines.

3-0 on the road so far.

Maybe Tillman covers Cotchery all day like he did against Plexiglas.

With all this talk about how the Bears run-d is bad, I thought I heard the motto of the Cover 2 was not to get beat deep. I think Tank Johnson or Tommie Harris said the Bears don't put too much into opposing RB's getting big yards against them.

Is this true or am I way off?

This is true. Most people contribute the run defense getting worse because Mike Brown is out but it was also better with Ian Scott. His run defense was great.

I think if you're depending on your safety to make tackles, Houston, we've got a problem.

What up with Ian Scott anyway?

I hope the Bears will roll through the Meadowlands again like a hurricane through a low-laying town. I also admit my error in taking the Giants last week. This week, however, I will not make a prediction on the game simply because I'm not sure which Rex will show up...

Rex problems are simple. He has to realize the Bears don't need to score a touchdown on every possession. Take a sack or throw the ball away. It's ok to punt sometimes.

Same thing I told the "boss" the other night. With this D and Special Teams play, there is not a team in the NFL that the Bears can't match up with. What are Wade Wilson and Turner watching? I assume they know more than any us.

What does Buffone say? Run the ball, stop the run, pressure the passer.

The Bears would be foolish if they did not run the ball 40+ times this weekend.

I've been one of the "Bench Rex" promoters but after watching the Bears/Giants game I need to temper my pessimism with Rex.

When he got BLASTED on his blindside and threw the pick, I thought I would see a repeat of the Fins game.

He recovered and played well and I was impressed.....like that really matters.

I heard Devin Hester is improving on playing the CB position per Lovie Smith. Maybe they should try him out on Coles this Sunday for a series or two? He may need to cover Steve Smith in the playoffs this year.
