Ill bet Stevie singing Supersticious over a Zepplin song would be cool. Maybe Kashmir

I've listened to this song about 10 times in a row since hearing it on XRT about an hour ago.

The new single from Brandon Flowers' (The Killers) upcoming solo debut album.

This song does everything right.

Interesting. How does that one differ from the Tom Petty's Greatest Hits compilation that everyone has to own?

Okay, I'm gonna brace for being called a crotchety old guy and fire off my opinion on this one.

"Greatest Hits" comps SUCK! Stevie Wonder? Just get Innervisions, Talking Book, and Songs In The Key Of Life. That's a good start. I don't need no Songs For Plants, I want songs for me.

An album is sequenced in a particular and specific order the way an artist intended it to be. "Rip This Joint" follows "Rocks Off", not the other way around. "Takin' A Ride opens side one. "Johnny's Gonna Die" opens side two. "Johnny's Gonna Die" doesn't follow "Careless" in the middle of side one. Hell, Alex Chilton and Jody Stephens nearly came to blows over the track order on Sister Lovers. This shit is not meaningless or unimportant.

That's kind of been lost in an age when people download songs on iTunes and create their own mixes. Just another way that community is being destroyed. My friends and I know that when we hear "Six Pack", "What I See" is next. That's the way it's meant to be. On your personal CD "Six Pack" might be followed with some shit by Nickelback. It's an abomination, I tell you.

You know, I rue the day when the one-hitter replaced the joint as the instrument of choice for smoking weed. Passing a joint is a communal act of celebration. Puffing a one-htiter is the province of the sad loner listening to his personal mix on his iPod. That's the same reason I lament the demise of the long player. You put the side on and listened to it all the way through. Everyone else did the same. It was shared culture. Now everything is personal as denoted by the fucking "i" in iTunes, iPad, iPhone, etc. Just remember it's a small "i". The capital letter is the "C" which stands for Corporation.

There isn't a bad song on the first two albums and the last one, the third album is a little bit more of an acquired taste. Highly recommend Pete Yorn for anyone into singer/songwriter/alternative rock/acoustic rock, I'd define it as a little bit more catchy than wilco, but not as deep...
