Most of which are free. Most of which we have participated in.

I would be going if I wasn't going to Michigan for the weekend.

I'd be in for the Ping Pong tourney! I've been known to fling a wrist or two at the plastic ball.

My friends and I used to play our own version of Beer Pong when we were younger (think I've told this story). Pound some Mickey's Big Mouth and put the empty bottle on the opponent's side to make it more difficult for them.....those were the days.

I don't get this. Is this a for profit party for themselves or what the hell is this?
Its weird.
Congrats on the 13 months party though guys.

It's not the money but you want the party to be successful...have a lot of people at it or at least tickets sold. Think of it as moral support.

I don't think it's weird. His shows have always had some yearly event.

Dude gets more moral support here than really any other guy. Again, he's doing well enough to tell folks to PTFB than something tells me he could give a rats ass about moral support.
If you want a successful party (i.e. as many fans as possible), you don't ask for $40 bucks at the door and saddle them with "free" BL. I think you do what the remotes do. Walk in. Drink your $5 imports. See the guys.
I don't know, maybe it's just to me that it's odd to profit off a 1 year party.

I could see a $8-$10 cover charge for the band... maybe (that's pretty damn high, no disrespect intended there at all FWIW). Let me buy my own beer.

Sounds like the MAJOR ANNOUNCEMENT had the same impact on people as the Clippers presentation to LeBron.

Whoever conceived this promotion is an idiot.

You "invite" people to pay $42 bucks to eat a free buffet and drink Bud Light products. It makes absolutely no f@ckn sense on any level.

It smacks of the station taking advantage of the listeners for profit. Have a party, that's great. But to toss a party like this, and charge this rate, right after a black tie roast at $75.00 is incredibly ill conceived.

I wasn't really thinking of it like that...I see your point.

How much are they profiting or does the cost of the ticket cover the party cost?

He gets more support here because he also gets the most and probably worst shit. I don't think of PTFB as a personal thing and attending the party kind of is. I think it would be a nice gesture considering he has probably bought some people here drinks, had them or at least invited us to the tailgate stuff, has been accessible, provided entertainment, etc.

I'm not an asslicker, as I'm pretty sure he doesn't like me. I'm looking at this objectively.

On the other hand if SSE is not willing to haul his ass out to Palatine why should we?

This was marketed really, really badly. I'd have a good time if I did go, but there are too many objections to go to this gig. I've showed up to some of the "well attended" 9am remotes (take that Justin "Events" Craig) to show my support. I'd be willing to spend money as well as I've been lucky to go to three Manniversary events (I know you are all so very happy for me). For me, I just don't know if $85 justifies what exactly I am getting out of this, plus the fact its in the burbs is a killer.

I'm glad it's in the burbs. I like the burbs. I like Nellies. I like beer and remotes. I like EVERYTHING about this except the price tag. I'd spend that much or more in beer anyway over a 6 hour period, but I wouldn't spend 45 by 10 and then have to spend more on my drinks.
I've just been outpriced. It's not hard to ourprice me. I have no damn money.

I'ts such a pain in the ass ride for me with all the construction and it being on a Friday and we have the Bon Jovi/Kid Rock show the next day in which I have to drive all my drunk freinds down to and home as well. If I can break away I'll pick you up Spaulding and will both head down to see Mac and Spiegs . It's in Stu's back yard as Im sure he will be there. God help you all if he shows up.

Slappy- WTF! Kid Rock and Bon Jovi? Might as well throw in some Wu Tang to complete the triumverant of suck!!! :P :P :P (this thread is going to be extra fun now)
