as the weeks go by its looking more and more like the sox have some staying power in this al central race. What does this team need more a stick or a pitcher? I'm leaning towards another starter. As good as Garcia has been he is up there in age and his arm has a lot of innings on it. I think the offense is rounding into form with Pierre and Quentin coming on and Rios and Konerko continuing to hit. The bullpen looks like it will be in good shape with 3 very solid arms and pena has even looked good at times this year.

It's almost time for the white flag trade.

A 22-5 record in their last 27 games should suggest they have 'staying power'. I would like to see Kenny add a bat now. They are going to play teams in the 2nd half that can score a lot of runs and they will need another bat to take some pressure off the pitching staff. I also think Kenny should give Hudson a month to see what he can do. He has until the waiver deadline (Aug 31) to add a pitcher.

Alexei has actually played a very solid shortstop this year. Lilly is a flyball pitcher. He was just OK in the AL. I don't want either.

I'd like to see them give Hudson a few turns in the rotation before making a move on a pitcher - I have a good feeling about him.

At this point, I'd save your trade assets for a few weeks to see what happens with Hudson. If he's serviceable, go get Dunn or the Big Puma. Otherwise, go get a pitchers not named Vasquez or Lilly.

I sent a message on my Facebook page to Ranger tonight in regards of what the White Sox should do. Ranger's teammate, SCORE/Sun-Times' Insider Joe Cowley, wrote today the Sox and Nationals are still discussing a possible Adam Dunn trade in today's "Bright One", and that 2B Gordon Beckham & RF Carlos Quentin could be used as possible trade bait. In the wake of Jake Peavy's season ending injury to the back of his throwing shoulder, the Sox might be in the market for another starting pitcher, even before the news late this afternoon in which Cliff Lee was dealt from the Mariners to Rangers. I think the answer may hinge on what Dan Hudson does come Sunday vs. the Royals and on this upcoming road trip to Minnesota, Seattle & Oakland starting next Thursday.

No way. I do not want to see Dunn here, especially if we lose Quentin in the process. That's a major defensive downgrade, especially in light of Dunn's prior comments about his refusal to play DH. I'll take a pitcher or two instead.
