1988 season to be exact. NFC championship vs. 49ers.

That was a long day.

49ers 28
Da Bears 3

And to think I was worried that they would come out of this trip with at least team right on them - at worst, the Bears have a 2 game lead with 5 to go - great job Chicago!

Actually Nas and A7X, they had home field advantage through out in 2001. The 13-3 season. Only problem is you can't play that NFC championship game at home unless you beat the divisional round opponent at home. McNabb didn't let that happen in 2001.

In 2001 the Bears were the 2nd seed. St. Louis had the number one seed.

I stand corrected. But still they had home field for that game and last year vs Carolina. Don't get me wrong. I didn't feel great confidence heading into those games. We're a much more complete team this year then in those years.

If by complete you mean, "Led by a quarterback with a bad case of happy feet".. then I'm on board.

These Bears are much better than they've been in years.. and I find myself waiting for the league to catch up. They seem to catch breaks when they need to. Interceptions can only take you so far.. I'm very nervous about next week at New England.

Next week will be a tough game. But it's a meaningless game in the grand sceme. A loss will not effect the Bears playoff standing. I want to win it. We have to improve on things. But the Bears can go 3-3 the rest of the way and have home field.

You know what's funny about that 1988 season. The Bears didn't have home field through out to start the playoffs. The Giants did. The 49ers upset them. The Bears beat the Eagles in the fog bowl and went on to host the 49ers. You know the 49ers only had 10 wins that season. They went on to win the Super Bowl vs the Bengals.

I'm a loser for knowing all of this still.
