Who's going to close for the NL? Wilson or Broxton? I think it would be big Brox.

I would have gone Bell personally but they used him, Broxton most likely.

Looks like it's going to be Broxton. This hot gun will have him around 101-102.

Hell of a play by Byrd. Giradi should have had a pinch runner for Big Fatass Juice hound.

He probably didn't get in because Girardi saw him clowning during the intro's. What the hell was he doing with all that gyrating and stepping 2 steps forward? I thought everyone else just tipped their cap and stood still. The other dude that wore the tattoo graphic under armor style long sleave shirt under his jersey should have been escorted out of the stadium immediately upon wearing whatever the fuck that was.

who Arod?

That was my initial thought, but then I finally thought that yes, given the situation of the game, I would rather have A-Rod pinch running for Ortiz than have Ortiz running. I also wanted to know who was left from the pitching group that could run, but they are all AL guys so not used to being on the base path at all.
Semi-upset that Thornton was the guy who gave it all up, but you can blame Phil Hughes for some of that.
Then again, this is just a meaningless exhibition game.

This was the most fun All Star game I can remember in a long time.
It wasn't some crazy game. NL won... lowest scoring game since 97 at the jake.
FUN!

They may have expanded the rosters to 34, but don't tell that to Joe Girardi & Charlie Manuel. Those two managers seemed to clear the benches to a point where in the A.L.'s case, Girardi's own Alex Rodriguez from the Yankees was the ONLY player remaining on the bench. Also, what in the hell was Red Sox DH David "Big Papi" Ortiz thinking when the Cubs' Marlon Byrd made a strike to Dodger SS Rafael Furcal to gun down Ortiz in the bottom 9th?

Ortiz had to stay close. He was screwed when Byrd didn't make the catch, but it was well within his range. I credit Ortiz for smart baserunning. If he goes and Byrd catches it, he's doubled off. I think even he realized the only way he wasn't screwed was if Byrd makes the play.
