I think this belongs in the intimate encounters section

Played the beta and wasn't that happy with it. Less happy that the game is only Terran campaign and the other 2 campaigns are being sold as separate games. StarCraft is one of my all time favorite games but I am going to pass on getting this one right away. Blizz has enough of my money - I'll wait for all 3 games to come in a BattleChest package.

That is how I understand it as well. And yes you can play all 3 races right away in multi-player. I like multi-player but the campaign and story was a big part of why I liked it so much. To me its just kind of an incomplete game :(

I'm passing...for now anyways...don't really have a good setup for the computer that I would want to spend serious chunks of time on, and after playing Halo Wars for a while, I've gotten dumbed down to the point where this game would likely just confuse the hell out of me...

...not that I was very good to begin with...

Nope. Will work just fine with XP as long as its SP3 and you have the latest Direct X drivers for your video card ( at least version 9c). They always put that so in 5 years when someone is buying the game and XP is no longer available they don't have to support it.

Just played it. I'm running windows xp and I'm probably in need of updating drivers anyways but it ran just fine. It is a computer that is less than a year old.

If feels like Starcraft 1 which is exactly what you want from a sequel. Most of the early things I have seen are definitely an improvement. I still am learning about all the units and the new strategy but without knowing anything about the game and just remembering Starcraft 1 I was able to be competitive in a game.

After two days the game sold 1.5 million copies...

I know we are talking about a smaller market, but I really thought it would have sold more than that...

If you liked single player on the first one, you'll like this one. I recommend doing a difficulty that is hard enough to force you to restart at least the first time. It's more fun to actually have to strategically win rather than just beat a computer you are better than.
If you liked multi player on the first one, you'll like this one.

I think it's great, though I haven't been able to play much the past week or so.

Played the trial version they are offering - first 5 campaign missions - over the weekend. Really enjoyed it and it feels like the original but better. Very tempted to go buy it. Anyone still playing it?

Diablo 3 is still 6 months out right? Did they announce an official date? I figure if I don't get this I will probably get sucked into SWTOR MMO in December.
