Vai sucks? Yngwie sucks? But let's pay $40 to hear you sing "Hossa" and the "12 days of Bearsmas". Fucking awesome!
Douche.

Guitarists.

I don't like them at all, but I can hardly say that they suck. Tell us how you really feel, Darko?

I think Vai and Yngwie are both crazy talented but I find it very difficult to listen to their music because its just too technical and fast paced .... they both don't have a great sense of what makes music enjoyable to listen to. But that being said I respect their talent greatly.

Well hey Weird Al does concerts....but yeah I cringe when I hear those parody songs on the radio. I can't imagine sitting through an entire set at a live event where I have to pay a farily large amount of money to attend....Weird.

The question that remains unanswered: Have they rented out the entire bar?

If not, why would I pay 35$ as opposed to walking in and spending less on alcohol I actually like to drink?

I assume the greatness that is "Hossa" can be heard throughout the entire bar?

Very Curious.

Quit your whining. It's only $42 dollars to hear them "perfrom" these. Another plus is that the open bar closes before the set of parody songs begins....or that is what someone said on this very message board.

Really, 42 bones for this? Is Mac relapsing into overwhelming cocaine usage? Is Mac locked in a hypnotic trance with the White Lady? How much dancing does he need to do with her?

Eitherway....Pay up.

I paid half that to see Sabbath, Ozzie, and Judas Priest.

Yea. I like Mac a lot, but this is an ill conceived event to say the least. I can't believe the number of commercials the Score is airing for this event. They could have sold the airtime used to promote this event & probably made more money than they will make in ticket sales. I'm pretty sure that Dirty Nellies will still be open for walk in business so why pay for this?
I'll bet that even many of the Mac ALS'rs will pass on this event.

I don't know. Who in the hell throws a 1 year anniversary party? Is that a major milestone? When you get to 5 or 10 years, ok. But 1 year? The Score would have been better off promoting this event like any other remote, where attendees are on their own for food & drink. I would think the Score could pay the $150 appearance fee for Tributosaurus. By the way, that might just be the worst band name ever?

not all of Vai's music is fast paced...technical, yes.

Sister's is a great acoustic song. For the Love of God is a ballad...

Fair enough I was more talking about Malmsteen and the crazy fast guitar playing. For my money I always enjoyed Satriani more than Vai anyhow

This event is sounding more and more like the Dundies.

You have won a Tiny Dundie...

Oscar Martinez, from "The Dundies" episode: The Dundies are kinda like a kid’s birthday party, and you go, and there’s really nothing for you to do there, but the kid’s having a really good time so you’re kinda there. That’s kinda what it’s like.

How dare you question the credibility of a "musician" who "sings" jingles?? :P

If you get a chance and if you have the HD channel Palladia, check out the Steve Vai concert that plays with some frequency on that channel...pretty good show. They also play Jeff Beck's concert that he did at Ronnie Scott's Jazz Club...that one is pretty fantastic. Although in Speigel's book...Beck is probably an amateur compared to his band's lead guitarist.

the Vai concert on Palladia is called "Where the Wild Things Are."

it's pretty intense...two violins/keys, backing guitar, bass and drums. the Beck concert is sweet too. Gotta love Tal Wilkenfeld
