Various websites and the New York Post are reporting that MTV is resurrecting the hugely popular iconic 1990s cartoon "Beavis and Butthead."

The last episode aired 13 years ago, and reports say not much will change ... series creator Mike Judge will return to the helm, and the drawing will remain, as it was back then, simple. And the boys are still in high school.

The only real difference will be that the music videos the duo mock will be from modern acts like Lady Gaga.... wait. Music videos on MTV? Odd.

For those of you who are unfamiliar with the show, Beavis and Butt-head, the main characters, are a couple of crude, deadbeat high school rock fanatics who sit around giggling at their own crude jokes. The show aired on MTV from March 8, 1993, to Nov. 28, 1997.

After the original series was canceled in 1997, Judge went on to create the long-running Fox animated series "King of the Hill" and the short-lived "The Goode Family." He also directed the live-action feature films "Office Space," "Idiocracy" and "Extract."

No word on when the show hits the air again, and neither MTV nor Judge commented.

Great show. Not sure how it will translate to today. Hopefully it is still funny. King of the Hill sucks.

When my kids were about 10/11 years old, I went out and got them the B&B computer game. The game was very funny,my kids loved it. Those guys rule!

PC Gamer ranks the original B&B computer game as one of the top 50 games of all time.

yeah, that was my first thought...a lot of stuff got censored/edited when they showed them in reruns a few years ago. i doubt it will be as "edgy" in that respect now

Hard to get much better news than this. I was hoping for a Stewart spin-off, but we got Daria instead. Easily my favorite show for the few years it was on. The holiday specials always seemed to be some of the best ones.

One B&B epidsode idea-
"Message Boreding" ....of course Daria or Stewart would have to help them use the computer.

Another thing, guess that they wouldn't have aged at all, similar to The Simpsons?

Krazy, there was an actual fire after someone was "inspired" watching an episode of "Beavis & Butt-Head" uttering that very word. MTV bosses wouldn't let Beavis say that four-letter word again, even though it was supposed to be considered as humor.

Any one but me seen the 2 episodes banned by MTV?
Frog Baseball and I forget the name of the other but it involved the boys going to a monster truck fest. It showed them sniffing glue. I saw both at a Spike and Mike animation Festival.

I remember seeing the frog baseball episode. Maybe at that point it was just a short on Liquid Television. In any event, I don't care about this comeback at all if ripping on videos isn't part of the mix. Just think of all the horrible, horrible shit that's been released since 1997 that will be available. It's pretty much a tragedy that the show went off the air shortly before Hanson's rise to fame. And, for some reason, I think ripping on the Puffy/Jimmy Page collaboration video from '98 would be priceless.

For the record, that was the show that "Beavis & Butt-Head" originally started, Jalapenos. Much like "The Simpsons" got their start on the "Tracey Ullman Show" when FOX started out as a network in 1987, "Beavis & Butt-Head" got their start on a show called "Liquid Television". That was a half hour of cutting-edge animation that was hard to describe, but very, very daring.

As for the return of "Beavis & Butt-Head", creator Mike Judge will not only voice those two once again, just like in the '90s, but I can only imagine what they'd have to say about more current artists on the channel, like Lady Gaga, Britney Spears & Katy Perry, for examples. I can safely say they'd change the channel in a heartbeat...

When I was at C2E2 this past March...or was it April, someone had a table selling a bootleg video of every single B&B episode, including Frog Baseball, the fire stuff & every single video that they mocked. $50. All 16 discs even had well put together menus and titling. Best $50 spent in quite awhile, IMO. :D
