Female Hipsters also must rock the insanely oversized sunglasses.

Nobody likes being labeled.

I hung out with what a lot of you guys would call Preppy in high school.

They would scoff at it and start listing their non Preppy qualites...

but guess what?

they were Preppys.

I'm kind of shocked that I'm a hipster. I always thought I'd end up like that Unibomber guy.... living off $100/year and growing or killing my own dinner. Minus of course the whole bombing thing. I get bombed, don't make them.

Generally unkempt.
Trust Fund.

That's pretty much what I'd go with. Can I add to that the black-rimmed non-prescription glasses?

No PBR at pitchfork......meaning there were thousands of sad people there on Saturday.

In addition to the large % of "hipsters" (or whatever we call them), that was the largest gathering of, um, "liberals" that I have been around in one spot since my undergrad days. :D

Funny becuase its true.

they also only like independent films.

They used to watch IFC, before they sold out and started showing studio films.

Now IFC is the enemy.

If they cared enought they would picket. But by definition, they do NOT care.

That describes a Chris Rongey like Douche, not a hipster.

Hipsters unite,
Come align for the big fight to rock for you.
But beware,
All those angels with their wings glued on.
'cause deep down,
We are frightened and we're scared.
If you don't stare.

I didn't realize that after playing the Twins and Indians respectively, the Sox and Tigers played a game at the festival. Sounds like you got your moneys worth...taking attendance of who's wearing what instead of taking in the music....idiot.

I don't know what I'm more embarrassed for, this thread or whoever thought it was a good idea to have a comedy stage at an outdoor music festival.

God dammit, I rock the old school pumas and vans and I enjoy myself a high life from time to time and I have some high school sports t-shirts. I don't wear skinny jeans, but do wear DC shorts most every day and that probably kills any hope of me being a hipster, plus I don't like any music a hipster would like.

I can tell you're a real class act, K. Klaus.... Cram it!

I wasn't the only one paying attention to what people were wearing at P. Fork. Here's AN ENTIRE BLOG dedicated to NBA jerseys at the festival.

I guess this guy wasn't doing a very good job of "taking in the music" either: http://thefastertimes.com/tv/2010/07/20/nba-jerseys-of-pitchfork/

That's how I know I'm hip. I sit around reading the works of Alan Watts and fantasizing about Miss Alex White. I once bought a Kincaid, hung it on my wall, and declared it ironic.

"Cram it"? Where do you want it crammed?

Since you are purveyor of "fine fashion"...why don't you let the class in on what you were wearing to the fashion show that just happened to have a music festival playing along side?

My friends don't wear NBA jerseys...
Come to think of it Douchebag, you had some Hipster clothing tendencies at the Bulls game.

I believe I wore my Pippen shirt at the Bulls game. That wasn't a jersey. I do own an old M-Jeff Jersey also, but I'm the original owner of that, so it doesn't count againt me in the hipster category. I guarantee you that all of the NBA jerseys shown in that article were purchased in thrift stores or on Ebay.

I don't think hipsters can like the clash. You have to like them before anyone else does. I don't think there are any 50ish year old hipsters out there.
