Does anyone else have a favorite among those actors and actresses you see have guest shots or second banana roles regularly on tv shows.

I was thinking about it last night as I saw one of my favorites Richard Burgi is going to be on Lie to Me next week. I've been a fan of him since 1987 when he played Chad on Another World even though I hated his character.

In all seriousness, M Emmett Walsh going back to Dickie Dunn in Slap Shot, and the late Brad Sullivan as Mo Wanchuk (Slap Shot) and George the accountant in The Untouchables.

Also, Wallace Shawn in just about everything he has ever done.

I also love his work in The Best of Times

He might not be lesser known, but Gary Cole makes just about anything better.

Great Topic here's a better one

Which actors went away inexplicably or never made it big that you like more than most people?

Michael Keaton
Jason Bateman
Rick Moranis

(I even worded in Cubbiegirlshamusian)

Not positive about this, but I think Moranis lost the will to keep acting after his wife died.

Yeah, I remember reading this. He quit acting to take care of his kids after his wife died. He still does the occasional voice role, but hasn't done anything onscreen in a very long time.

Bill from Bill and Ted

And for the original character actors question I always enjoyed the work of a Bruno Kirby

Michael Keaton

Here's some recent stuff on Keaton (from wikipedia):

Quote:
Keaton reportedly was cast as Dr. Jack Shephard in the series Lost, understanding that the role of Jack would be a brief one. Once the role was retooled to be a long-running series regular, Keaton withdrew. The part was given to actor Matthew Fox.[10][11]

Keaton starred in the 2007 TV mini-series The Company, set during the Cold War, in which he portrayed the real-life CIA counterintelligence chief James Jesus Angleton. The role garnered Keaton a 2008 SAG nomination for Outstanding Performance by a Male Actor in a Television Movie or Miniseries. The Company also starred Chris O'Donnell, who portrayed Batman's crime fighting sidekick Robin (the Boy Wonder was absent from the two Batman films that Keaton starred in) in Batman Forever and Batman & Robin.[12]

Keaton most recently provided the voice of Ken, Barbie's friend, in Toy Story 3.[13] He announced in June 2010 his interest in returning for a Beetlejuice sequel.[14]

Lots of great input from everyone.

As far as people you thought would make it bigger in my years of soap watching and fanclub officering a lot of those I thought would go on to bigger and better things never did and those that did surprised me.

Although the one guy I thought would make it big above all others you hear all the time but wouldn't recognize his face unless you watched Another World from 1984 on. But I know most will know the voice from a zillion commercials.

His name is Stephen Schnetzer. Google him and hear his voice and you'll know it. For any fan of the show here he played Cass Winthrop.

With Richard Burgi I can almost guarantee you you've seen him in something and if you look up his face you'll go Oh I know that guy but you probably never knew his name.

Now I have to rack my brain to see if they ever would have had a scene together as their paths crossed briefly on Another World. In a typical soap opera story Richard's character was the former pimp of Stephen's characters sister in law but Cass's wife was presumed dead when he came back but she returned alive 4 years later. And the actress who played the former prostitute is now the 2nd in command of special ed for the LA School System.

Why would any of us think someone would make it bigger in your years of soap watching?

And what the hell is fanclub officering?

What I meant in over 20 years of watching soaps actors/actresses I thought would go places didn't and many did I thought were poop.

And I was a fanclub officer at one time for Guiding Light and Another World shows and individually for a couple of actors.

Yeah that clears it up.

Ill translate

What I meant...

In over 20 years of watching soaps there were a lot of actors/actresses I thought would go places that didnt. There were just as many that did go places that I thought were excrement.

Actually I wrote very little fanfic for either show. It's weird writing fanfiction when you know the actors and actresses.

I even had a few under 5s and walkons. I actually can say Im not a doctor but I played one on TV as I was a doctor extra on Guiding Light a few times.
