That's another thing we've gotten used to over the past 15 seasons or so- guys playing at a high level much longer than players have historically. Normally hitters have begun to decline at around the age of 30. Look at Orlando Cepeda or Ernie Banks. Mickey Mantle was done before his mid-30s were over. Henry Aaron was a freakish guy who maintained his consistency until he was about 40.
