Another nice win, another series win and another great outing by Gavin. The Carlos Quentin stayed hot and Beckham contributed a big home run. With how great these guys are playing it's almost too bad the all star break is coming up.

Kotsay 1b

Viciedo 3b
Beckham 2b

Pauly gets the day off and Viciedo gets the start at 3B. Sure would be nice to go into the all star break on a 8 game winning streak and poosibly in 1st place if the 3rd place '27 New York Twins can win a damn game against the Tigers.

Zack Greinke has been scratched from Sunday's start due to shoulder discomfort.

Good for the Sox bad for my fantasy team.

Good job only giving up 1 run there. Hudson is a little wild early. Hopefully he settles down as the game goes on.

Hudson gets a 8-1 lead, and can't get through 5 innings for a win.

I know no two years are truly alike, but this season is eerily reminiscent of 1983. All that is missing is a starter whose hat falls off every time he throws.

That '83 team was awesome. They couldn't lose in the 2nd half. Fuckin Jerry Dybzinski.

Quentin is back in right and Kotsay is the DH. Johnny Danks needs to get this series off to a a good start (have I mentioned I'll be there this weekend!?!) Go get 'em, Men.

Rios doesn't make a play and now they're singling Danks to death. Beckham absolutely KILLED that ball. He's going to have a HUGE 2nd half.

Nice to see that even though the Metrodome is gone, the Sox still can't pitch over mistakes in Minnesota. 47 pitches for Danks in the second

Quentin has to stop running into pitches or he's not going to make it through the season.

Quentin is supposed to catch that ball. Does Rios have to cover all three outfield spots?

46 pitches in the 2nd inning and Danks still made it through 6 and is in line for the win. Unbelievable.

Hawk says the Twins players don't like playing in Target Field. If true that would really be something. I'll do a little investigating this weekend and report back.

It's too big. The ball dies from alley to alley.

Nice ugly win, boys! Johnny Danks gets his 9th win and Big Bad Bobby gets his much deserved 20th save. Gavin needs to keep it rolling tomorrow. 9 in a row!

Whew...

Great to win a game where you give up 6 runs in an inning. And Danks lasting 6 innings after throwing nearly 50 pitches in the second was huge.

The White Sox lineup for tonight's game is already in. These are the 9 who will be dealing with Ryan Rowland-Smith, a struggling lefty for the Mariners:

1 Juan "Three Hits Last Night" Pierre DH
10 Alexei "Ozzie, Am I Second or Eighth?" Ramirez SS
51 Alex "Still Hitting over .300" Rios CF
14 Paul "Hit This, Adam!" Konerko 1B
20 Carlos "I Had 2 Hits" Quentin RF
12 A.J. "I Have the Same BA as Beckham" Pierzynski C
24 Dayan "Washington-Bound?" Viciedo 3B
25 Andruw "Lowest BA on the Team" Jones LF
15 Gordon "I Have the Same BA as Pierzynski?" Beckham 2B

Gavin Floyd does the chucking for the White Sox in the second of four at U.S. Cellular Field.

The lineup is in, and this is how the White Sox line up tonight vs. righty David Pauley in the finale of 4 with the Mariners:

1 Juan "1 Hit, 2 Runs, 2 Walks Last Night" Pierre LF
11 Omar "I'm the Reason Why Ramirez is Real Good, Ozzie!" Vizquel 3B
51 Alex "I Don't Know Why I DH-ed Last Night" Rios CF
14 Paul "That Catcher for Seattle is Slower Than Me!" Konerko DH
20 Carlos "I'm Not Going Anywhere!" Quentin RF
7 Mark "My Days in a White Sox Uni Are Numbered..." Kotsay 1B
10 Alexei "Ozzie, I'm Better Than 7th in the Order!" Ramirez SS
27 Ramon "Freddy's Pitching, So I'm Catching" Castro C
15 Gordon "Won't Be Dealt, Won't Be Moving Up in the Order" Beckham 2B

Of course, with Castro catching, you know what that means. Freddy as in Garcia does the chucking for the Sox.
