With Lee, the Mariners had a really nice starting staff this year. Their relievers have been te worst in the AL and their hitting is non existent.

Look at that lineup. There is not a single guy to fear after Ichiro.

He hadn't pitched in a week. Its not that uncommon for bullpen guys to be off for a few days and then have a few more MPH when they do return to action.

He would have shut down anybody last night because he was throwing strikes. When he doesn't try to nitpick at the corners of the strikezone, he can be dominant.

I watched this game and he was only throwing "strikes" because the batters wiffed at pitches out of the strike zone.
I'll reserve judgement on Jenks for when he doesn't face AAAA batting. Would you consider "Z" to be back and dominant when he beats the Pirates?

That ball was without a doubt getting there faster than the batter expected - look at the last pitch.

Speed guns were not jacked last night - that was real.

My bad - the second to last pitch.

A 98 MPH pitch at the shoulders. I don't think many major leaguers can catch up with a 93 mph pitch at the shoulders really. But again, a 5-7 mph increase probably isn't hgh, it's probably a bullshit gun.
