He's too much to give up for 1+ years of Fielder. Do you really need me to explain that to you?

If you actually read posts you'd see I was talking about signing him long term.

Sign him long term? With Scott Bora$ looking for Ryan Howard money (5yr/$125M)? That's fantasy land.

But for Hudson and Viciedo, 1.5 years is fine. Enjoy that.

A one tool player (he can hit) I heard he's legally trying to change his name to Prince Designated Hitter

Fielder & Hart Are Off The Market
By Ben Nicholson-Smith [July 29 at 8:23pm CST]
The Brewers have decided that they’re too close to contention to sell, according to ESPN.com's Keith Law. An executive from a club that had interest in a Brewers player explained to Law that Milwaukee has changed its approach to Saturday's deadline. That means Prince Fielder and Corey Hart are no longer available to teams seeking power bats

Too close to contention? They are 9 games out of the NL Central?

I'm willing to bet they can't find any suckers willing to trade the kind of players the Brewers want or GM's that are willing to deal with Boras.

I would do it. Send them GB and some arms. He is the type of difference maker that can make that offense better for years to come.

I'd do it too, depending on what the Brewers want. If it's only Beckham and a couple of pitching prospects, fine. If it Floyd and/or Danks plus prospects, not happening. Plus you have Scott Boras to consider who hasn't gotten along with anyone in the Sox front office.

Beckham. No deal.

Why would the Brewers want Beckham? they have Ricky weeks at 2nd base doing very well. I guess they could try him at SS, but they like Escobar. At 3rd Casey McGehee has done well so thats unlikely. I just don't see them wanting Beckham that much. Pitching is what they need. When you're starting guys like dave Bush, you know you need pitching.

I was always under the impression that the Brewers wanted at the minimum either Danks or Floyd + prospects for Fielder. I felt that Viciedo would go because he could play first base with Fielder departing.
