It's because when he entered the game it was not a save situation. They were up 4 runs at the time.

It was 6-3 (I was there). The reason he didn't get the blown save was because he wasn't on the mound when the winning run scored but it's a blown save in my book.

KOTSAY!

So does Santos get the 11th?

He started the bottom 11th. I've got to think Sergio's got a chance to get the save, or get the "W" for that matter.

Here's an interesting question. Not likely, but possibly.

Say Santos starts the inning, so he is elegible for the W. They bring in another pitcher, but move Santos to left field for a batter. Then, the bring Santos back to get the final out of the game. Does he then get the save as well?

Raburn's the one who pinch hit for Will Rhymes and smacked the three-run homer that forced extra innings today...Raburn just grounded out to Gord Beckham to end it. The White Sox win 6-4 in 11.

The Tigers collapse has been epic. At 9 back - they are pretty close to being completely out of it.

You are correct, Mel. This loss has to be a big time dagger for the Tigers. They may now have Brandon Inge back and Carlos Guillen may be back next weekend when they visit U.S. Cellular Field next weekend, but it's too little, too late.

They are 5 1/2 games off the pace of the Yankees.
