I realize that this entire forum pretty much revolves around how much North sucks, but I wanted to create a new topic to express my views.

I moved out of town almost two years ago, and (obviously) don't listen to the station 1/10th as much as I used to. I do listen online when possible.

What the hell is wrong with North? Does he not realize the relatively crappy ratings he now gets and how much of a blowhard he sounds like now? And I've read about Bebe being the force behind the Mike North pub machine ... I've got to believe even she is embarassed by what junk her beloved husband delivers on a daily basis.

I started listening to the Score on DAY 1 - and was a hardcore listener for YEARS. I really enjoyed the Monsters of the Midday, Heavy Fuel Crew - really everything the Score had to offer. Boy have things changed since then.

I really believe North has lost all touch with the real world - and it's gotten a million times worse in the past two years. The morning show sucks. I find it hard to believe that grown men/women sit around in a board room and put their stamp of approval on the crap that North is spewing on a daily basis.

And how hard up is North to make a headline? As soon as Marcus Robinson stated that the Bears "still won't make the Superbowl" North started screaming "BULLETIN BOARD...BULLETIN BOARD...BULLETIN BOARD" like a old woman. Jesus Christ is he (and his show) sad...and bad.

Anyways, thanks for creating/maintaining this website - it's really nice to check in on what's going on back home!

I have to disagree here. I think Bebe, Mike, and everyone involved with their daily production believe that this is a quality show. She seems a little too ditzy to realize how bad it really is.

Besides North himself, I just don't know how anyone with half a brain could listen to him babble on and on about nothing for hours (being sure to throw in some ethnic slurs and uneducated theories) and not think "good Lord this guy is stealing from the Score".

Bebe is obviously good at pumping her husband up everyone's asses (getting him awards and invites to ceremonies etc), so I think she must own at least half a brain. Maybe she is too close to him to look at/listen to him objectively - I at least hope she realizes that he's at least gone downhill a bit.

The thing that really worries me is that, at some point, North will work his way on to some talking head sports show and "represent" Chicago - if I ever see that I'll quickly fall on to something sharp. Wait, Mariotti is already embarassing Chicago ... I'm off to find something with a sharp edge.

Yah, that is one of the things that makes me laugh - North is still stumping for Connie Francis to get in the Rock Hall of Fame. I find comfort in coming back home and hearing familar things, but it is absolutely ridiculous and embarassing that North feels it necessary to go back to the Connie Francis well for well over a decade. It's questionable how many people found that amusing or were entertained with him cramming that in our ears the FIRST time - North, you're getting old and most of the demo you should be looking for probably have no idea who Connie Francis is (or who Bushman is for that matter).

It's too bad that one of his cronies don't have the sack to approach Mike and tell him how much he blows.

Yeah, I have to think Bebe ain't embarrassed one bit--she's laughing all the way to the bank. And I say that because I'm sure she actually does take Mike's checks to the bank because (a) he's too stupid to sign up for direct deposit and (b) he's too stupid to deposit them himself.

You're giving Pappy to much credit. I'll bet if you lift of Mike and Bebe's mattress you'll find 3.5 million in cash there.

Good stuff. Yah, I'm sure a quick inspection of Pappy-land would uncover at least a shoe box or two stuffed with 20's, 50's and 100's.

I have no doubt that she is indeed laughing all the way to the bank - but I'm sure she must have some idea how far he's fallen (and it's not like he was ever that great, more that he had a unique take on things at the point in time that the Score went on the air).

Anyways, the over done Chicaaaago accent is played out Mike. Try speaking in a way that reflects that you've actually been paid to be on the radio for quite awhile.
