Well it was almost a quandary, wasn't feeling to good earlier and didn't think I had the energy today to deal with her.

Ended up just playing through it.

If she keeps coming back, then what's all this with you and the married lady? You have some deep seeded insecurities.

I do have some insecurities but doesn't every man? They aren't deep seeded

Guess I like a little variety in my life.

Nope, nothing wrong with a little variety, it's the spice of life. Unattached variety comes with far less mess than the attached kind, however. I hope you realize that.

Just based on what little I have read, I would argue the roots of the insecurity tree run rather deep.

Depends what you mean by "mess". I have had my fair share of mess with the unattached variety even more so than the attached kind.

How many definitions of mess are there? I doubt you have ever had the husband of an "unattached" woman come after you and try to do you bodily harm, have you?

Of course not,but have never had a husband of an "attached" women come after me either.

It is silly, especially when you don't know the situation.

If you ever have a husband come after you and want to inflict bodily harm can we make that a board event? I would like to come up for that one.

Yeah, and last week it was several games for his uncle, you asswipe.

it was only 3 games...standard for bereavement

this time it could take longer because it's his mom who is ill and its not sure when she will die...Im sure Lou probly wishes he woulda just quit if he had known these deaths would happen

he looks like a beaten disinterested manager...no doubt we will lose 3 or 4 games in SF, then we goto St Louis...by the time Lou gets back it will be a mess, Ill almost feel sorry for him

First off, I'm sorry to hear Lou's mother is at the end. But he should take the next six weeks off to rest, relax, compose himself. No harm in letting Trammell finish this out. It really can't get much worse.

There is really no point in him being there. In fact he can probably only harm his legacy.

I have been threatened by an angry husband. In fact, the SOB poured ATF or brake fuild all over the paint job on my car. I didn't get too angry. People get emotional. But they should really direct that anger at their spouse. If it hadn't been me it would have been some other dude. I don't think I need to check for a marriage license before I bang a broad.

Anyway, like Ajent says, things can get plenty messy with single girls too. And isn't there always some guy to go through? It might be a husband, a boyfriend, a father, a big brother, or some "best friend", but there's almost always some dope to deal with.

Am I evil for thinking that this would be a great excuse for Lou to step down right now and not finish the season?

or am I evil in general but this thought doesn't make me evil?

This my point exactly. It should stand to reason that his mother has been sick before and he likely didn't leave the team. If the Cubs were within say 4 games of the Cards/Reds, I doubt he would be leaving unless she passed away.

Anyway, 3 pages
I didn't mean to be offensive, but Fealz sums it up pretty nicely there.

Good thing you're in the ISOP, Frank. No one is going to call you names and tell you to STFU for posting the same fucking thing I did.

I didn't read the whole thread, but I did see wher eyou said that. I agree. If this team was in the race, I do not think he would be leaving now, and I don't think he would have been gone as long as he was for his uncle's passing. Hell, players only get 3 games (so 4 days tops) on the berevement list.

I really don't know what Lou would do, but I think it's a fair question. I'm guessing if the team were in contention he wouldn't be taking all that time off.

Now Ozzie, on the other hand, his mantra has always been "family first". He'll let a guy go home for a week because his wife has a hangnail. And I'm sure if his family members were sick or dying he'd take the time off in the middle of a pennant race. I'd probably complain about it too.

But I've always thought Piniella was a phony. All of his histrionics on the field as a player. The contrived arguments with umpires. And the ridiculous showboating in the 2000 ALDS when he walked out to first to talk with his baserunner. Have you ever seen a manager do that in all the time you've been watching baseball? Shit, I've never liked Piniella since he won the ROY award that rightfully belonged to Carlos May.

Well, thats a debate for a different day.

Its hard to talk about that situation until you are dealing with a dying parent. I just don't think Lou would have been gone for 5 days for his uncle's passing, nor would he be leaving for an extended time again if the Cubs were closer to the top of the division. Thats just my opinion though.
