Even if they win tomorrow, bad road trip. Bad bad bad. A split (at best) with the worst team in all of MLB is not acceptable.

Not under Showalter

4 games in a season does not make. As of right now they have the worst record in all of MLB. And they have that for a reason...they are awful.

Funny but I didn't see Buck Showalter pitching this weekend. Who I did see were the same rag armed turds with 7+ ERA's who have been getting lit up like pinball machines all year.

I don't know if they're looking ahead to the Twins but they better get their heads out of their asses tonight and win this damn game. I really don't want to see them tied with the Twins heading into this series.

Correct they are the worst team in MLB but have been playing better ball under Showalter is all i'm saying.

Even before Anthony John Pierzynski was forced to leave Saturday's game with an ankle injury and Gordon Beckham's strained groin yesterday on quite a "Web Gem" in the 2nd inning, the White Sox have scored a grand total of 3 RUNS vs. Buck Showalter's three starting pitchers in the first 3 games. Comcast SportsNet's Chuck Garfien mentioned this to Bill Melton on "U.S. Cellular Postgame Live" yesterday. "Against Brad Bergesen Friday, the Sox scored 1 run. Against Kevin Millwood Saturday, the Sox scored 1 run. Against Jeremy Guthrie yesterday, the Sox scored 1 run." Garfien said. The three starting pitchers Showalter started vs. the Sox had high ERAs and losing records, yet the Sox made all 3 of those O's starters look like Cy Young. Tonight, the Sox face another pitcher with a high ERA, but it's someone only Alex Rios has ever faced. He is lefty Brian Matusz, who's 4-11 with a 5.26 ERA. Usually, pitchers the Sox have NEVER faced lifetime is a bad omen...

Here's the lineup that Brian Matusz will face tonight in the finale at Camden Yards:

1 Juan "Over 500 Career Steals" Pierre LF
10 Alexei "Bat Me 2nd For Good, Ozzie!" Ramirez SS
51 Alex "Slump? What Slump?" Rios CF
14 Paul "Reality Check" Konerko 1B
20 Carlos "Should Be DH-ing From Here on Out" Quentin DH
12 A.J. "Ankle? What Ankle?" Pierzynski C
24 Dayan "Charlotte-Bound?" Viciedo 3B
25 Andruw "Better Glove Than Carlos" Jones RF
18 Brent "Why Is My Stance Similar to Beckham?" Lillibridge 2B

Edwin Jackson does the chucking for the White Sox as they try to add a half-game on the idle Twins in the A.L. Central.

Ummm that would be bad exactly why? its August friggin 9th. Little early to hit the OMG the Twins are tied with us panic button Keyser. At least the team you root for doesnt bring the suck every night. Not to go all Bob Knight on you, but if the Twins are going to catch you and its inevitable, relax and enjoy it.

Could be concerned the Twin are right there with no Morneau, but their pitching outside of Liriano and a revivified Pavano doesn't look very good.

The Red Sock and Ray are not exactly lighting it up right now. It isn't a forgone conclusion the wild card will come out of the East.

Just sayin'

I'm trying to keep my sanity so I'm trying to make myself believe that the Sox don't care if they win or lose this series with Baltimore, they just want to stay healthy and rested for the Twins.

Beating the Twins will create distance while beating the O's really doesn't matter a whole hell of a lot but for the sake of pride.

Is this thinking realistically, or am I just fooling myself?

Losing 3 of 4 to the worst team in the fucking game. Killing scoring chances by offering free outs to struggling pitchers in the last two innings. Not bringing Thornton back to face the lefties after he looked like God himself in the previous inning. Could he really not face two more fuckin' guys?

Not signing Thome is haunting this team. The Sox might have the division just about locked up if they had just signed him and never played him at all instead of having him win games every day for their man rival. If they actually DHed him they'd probably be about five or six in front.

Losing 3 of 4 games to the WORST team in baseball is not good. Hopefully coming back home will help the Sox at the very least win the series against the Twinkies. I thought Jackson looked really good tonight; 7 K's vs. 1 BB granted it was against the worst team in baseball.

How long is Pierzinski going to be given the majority of the games at catcher. The guy has been bad since day 1.

And fuck that "hard" .230 of Quinten's. Give him a hard 9" where the sun don't shine.

I hope this series loss was just due to the lack of interest by the Sox as a whole. This next series versus the Twins is crucial and they must take two of three, but must focus on a sweep.

If the Sox play like this against the Twins and lose two of three then all bets are off. If the Twins get ahead by five or less the Sox still have a chance, but if they keep scuffling like this and let the gap get to large I don't think they have it in them to go on another 9-10 game win streak.

I hope AJ is not back next year. Even though he is so smart, as Hawk says, he is a butcher at the plate. Hopefully Flowers can start hitting in the minors to get up here by next year.

10 runs in 4 games against those shit fuck pitchers. Ozzie better reach deep in his bag of tricks for this homestand because this could get away from them in a hurry if they continue to play like this.

Everything I have seen of AJ, he would be a horrible influence as a backup or even splitting time. He'll look at this season as an aberration at the end of the year. I look at it as another example of Bill James research about players declining significantly between 32 and 33, but then maintaining those 33 year old numbers until the end.

If AJ is not hitting .280 with double digit home runs he is a below average catcher.

You think this would be good for a DH?

AVG-.299
HR-22
RBI-66
OBP-.366
SLG-.533
OPS-.899

Those numbers belong to Nick Swisher!

I'm still trying to make myself believe the Orioles players are trying to keep their jobs next year and that the Sox just did not give a shit about this series. Hopefully CQ didn't hurt himself on that play at first. This series also made Ozzie look like a douche after he ripped Showalter back in 2004.

I will say if I see another bunt pop-up I WILL shit myself.
