Stick to telling me who's the best at "picking up the ball off the dirt" you ever saw.

I would rather listen to Berman and Stu tag team a broadcast than hear Hawk....and I can not stand either of them.

It is getting to be a bit much.

I was thinking last night that if you made recordings of about ten different sayings you could have an engineer select the appropriate one, push a button, and Hawk could call Sox games in perpetuity.

Is it just me, or does Hawk remind me of D.W. when he says that now?

Hawk is getting to be almost unlistenable now

The "don't stop now boys" thing is just the straw that broke the camel's back. His "usual" sayings are OK and can even be enjoyable in small doses.

But this year it seems like he's worse than ever. EVERY call is disputed, EVERY borderline ball/strike call is disputed. EVERY run the opposition scores is because of a mistake. Also maybe he did before but I'm not sure I've heard him straight up root as much as he has this year. It's getting to the point where he's saying "throw it away, throw it away" when the opposition is making a routine throw on a ground ball. I understand there are home team announcers but in my opinion that's a just going a bit over the line....I mean bottom line he is a play-by-play guy and should be describing the action that's actually happening, not what he *wants* to happen

He's an old man. Some of them complain about the soup in the deli. Hawk complains about umpires.

Worse than that, you can listen to the radio broadcast without ever getting the score. You usually have to wait until the inning is over.

agreed, i love hawk, but he absolutely sounded terrible last week when he said it about 6 or 7 times in one inning!

i hate that phrase

if i was sick of hawk like some others, then yes, that would also be the straw that broke the camel's back for me as well
