Having not gone to a college with a football team (Go BU Braves!), and since my Notre Dame Fighting Irish suck balls, I am in need of a new college football team to latch on to like the leech I am.

With that being said, I am willing to leave my college football fandom up to all of you to decide.

Choose a school that is close enough to tailgate at least once a year and is good enough that it is not an embarassment to be a fan. Wisconsin would seem to be a good fit. Good tailgates...decent teams that play Bear football with tough defense and good running...liberal campus where you might be able to get laid by a north shore hippie chick...readily available drugs.

I had ND pushed on me until I decided to take a stand and find my own team back when I was 13 or 14 and I went with The U. Over 15 years later, I can not complain.

Boise St... No seriously. They have 21 of 22 starters coming back from an undefeated BCS bowl team.

Only drawback is they get Virginia Tech Sept 6 on a neutral field in Maryland. Dont see how that is neutral tho.

I have a real problem picking a team just because it is successful. If that is your criteria, go watch NFL and be done with it. Or just go pick Alabama and then jump off the bandwagon when they lose. I think you pick a program because you believe in the:
1) leadership (i.e., the coach's ability to develop talent, and does he represent the program well)
2) tradition (i.e., you enjoy the pomp and circumstance around gameday, and the rich history)
3) accessibility(i.e., can you get tickets, ticket prices, can you follow them on TV)
4) way they treat their fans (i.e.., are they investing in the program)

Seriously, though... if any of you guys want tickets, please ask. I might not always be able to give them away, but I have six good season tickets and I rarely use all of them. I got six this year because of the Wrigley game.

Dr. Ken, I'm in my glass house, so you won't see me throwing stones. Illinois is a good program, but I think we all know it could be better. I think the new coordinators are gonna surprise people.
