So you agree with the math too?? There are just 43 games left in the season when you posted this. that amounts to just 26.5% of the season remaining. Thats a lot closer to 1/4 of the season than 1/3. One third of the season would be 54 games . I know some people like to massage the numbers to try to make their opinion/theory seem more sound, but I have to jump in and correct this kind of error. The urgency is truely there for the Sox now. If the Twins (now 69-50) were to win just 21 of their reamining 43 games (go 21-22 the rest of the way) The Sox JUST TO TIE, have to go 35-18. They have to average just about 2 wins out of every 3 games to tie. Of course the remaining games VS the Twins become even more critical.

"reamining" :lol:

He's getting a good reamining here in this thread.

One thing I can agree with there, it is ovaaa if we use those numbers. The Sox need to have a winning pct of 123%. That would have to be some sort of record.

Okay....I deserved the crap I took. My math was off. To be accurate....if the Twins play at the level they have established (.580) they should finish with 94 wins. For the Sox to finish EVEN with the Twins they would have to go 29-14. Thats not likely to happen either. Thats a .674 win percentage. Their season average is just .546. Plus, the Sox scedule in the remaining games is tougher, with 5 games still to be played head to head with the Twins, 4 games VS the Red Sox and 3 VS the Yankees. Good luck....

Check this math up/down and sideways...it's correct.

I suppose one could have a ton of free time on their hands when not burdened with watching baseball on the North Side.

That's not likely to happen. Minnesota would have to revert back to playing .500 type of baseball. Big game tonight, the Sox can't leave there 6 games out.

Here is another fact many might not be aware of: The Sox are now 2 games UNDER .500 Vs American League teams. They beat up on the Cubs, Pirates and Nationals, to help themselves to a record 12 games over .500 in interleague play. But in the A.L. they are decidedly mediocre. It makes it difficult to imagine they will go on any kind of run like they established earlier (38-12) during which they were involved in interleague competition. They were most fortunate to draw some of the weakest teams in MLB during that stretch.

Your analysis also tends to go above the level of analysis that a 4th grader who just learned the concept of percentages could do.

Yes, but not very far above.

I'd like to see elmhurst steve crunch the numbers for the Twins. That might make the Sox chances look a lot better.

I have done that already. If you extrapolate the Twins established winning percentage over the full season, they finish with 94 wins. They have a few tough series' left against the Angels and Rangers, but a lot more easy games. They have 6 games left with the Royals, 6 games VS the Indians, 3 against the Mariners and 4 against the Sox. :wink:

The Twins and Sox have 42 games left and if the Twins go .500 (26-26) in those games the Sox will need to play .750 ball (40-12) to tie. If the Twins play .750 ball (38-14) the Sox will have to win every game (50-2) to tie. I really don't see this happening.

That pretty much sums it up right there. This season is ovah!

I know what the on-air personalities have said both on and off the air to me and the feedback has been very positive. If there is some producer that is frustrated at his inability to make a niche for himself in the business and has another opinion, it's meaningless to me. I have been treated very well by both stations over the years in consideration of my contributions to them and I'm very comfortable with my standing with both of them.

You're a guy who admits to catching his girlfriend giving a blowjob to another guy...and you want to talk about people laughing at someone??? :lol: :lol: :lol: thats rich...

So you are ok with being a laughingstock. Being a Cubs fan, I'm sure you are used to it. But just wanted to know where you stood on the matter. Thats cool, glad you are able to accept it.

I have been complimented by radio personalities of both stations and identified as an exceptional caller both on and off the air for the contributions made to their shows.. I have also received gifts (not won) including rounds of golf, entry to the ESPN Fantasy Football Convention 3 years straight and various other gifts by both radio stations as well. I feel very comfortable with reguards to my standing with each. They don't skip other callers just to take my calls right away for no reason. It's simple....when I call in, I make a solid point, I have stats/facts to back up my position as well. When radio stations do these kinds of things for you, you are a valued contributor. You....now you, are a laughingstock. Although you elicit pity from many, in addition to being the source of jokes. I have received several PM's from people asking me to stop mentioning you walking in on your girlfriend sucking some other guys cock. I guess some people think thats just too painful . But I find it hillarious. :lol:
