The elbows have nothing to do with the top of the strike zone. Every hitter holds his hands at a different height. I think that would create more variability than already exists between umpires' tops of the strike zone.

Not only are they still bitching about the strike call on Rios from a couple innings ago, they are showing replays of it still.

Hawk has a number of enablers on the production side.

They really want to see a vein pop in his forehead.

I think my last post should stand on its own regarding this subject, Jayfon.

Whatever you say, PanPis.

In the first, but they only threw 20 or so each. You could use them.

Looks like Putz.

They've also got another game in 12 hours. That should be interesting pitching-wise.

Part of why I'm thinking burn a guy today. But I didn't think Putz was even available. Then again, I'm a Cubs fan. What the F**K do I know?

I guess JJ is feeling fine. Frank Thomas is going to need someone to drive him home.

What a fucked up night of baseball. I'm happy I was at a bar and not sitting at home watching this clusterfuck. A doubleheader, a burned out starter, a beatup bullpen and no Matt Thornton. Tony Pena deserves a medal for going 7 innings in game two. Johnny Danks needs to throw a complete game today.

Keyser, the effects of this series may well be felt for the remainder of the year. Talk about completely fucking your pitching staff.

Speaking of "fucking your pitching staff," Joe West works the plate TODAY when John Danks & Zach Greinke toe the rubber in the finale of this series in Kansas City. Consider yourselves warned...

No kidding. September 1 can't come fast enough. They should callup 4-5 pitchers just to eat some innings.

The Twins are having problems of their own. They put Kevin Slowey and Ron Mahay on the DL yesterday. This is turning into a war of attrition.

I'll never understand for the life of me why the White Sox & Royals couldn't wait until September 2nd to make up Friday's rainout instead of a doubleheader that didn't end until 1:15a this morning...The Sox & Royals have an off day, although the Sox would be in between Cleveland & Boston on this next road trip.

Well damn, players make errors too. Let's replace them with machines that don't throw wild pitches, catchers that don't allow passed balls and left fielders that don't faghop when making a catch.

Also, NOT easily perfectable. But Counselor PeePis summarily dismissed my argument.

That's not how the game is played man. The game involves human umpires. That's what baseball is.

Going to be a long game with Hawk bitching about the strike zone, and starting the game on Friday.

that is not real time, though - and does not use sensors on ball, batter or plate.

I don't think you get baseball man. That is not how you play the game. You don't put sensors in a baseball. It's cork, yarn, leather. Some mud.
Umpires call the game. Just like players play the game umpires call the game. That's what it is. It's a game played, officiated and watched by humans.
