Yeah half ass blind Hawk sees it from 300 feet away in the booth but the ump that's a foot away from the play missed it.

The one where he struck out swinging at one in the dirt?
Yup, that's the umps fault.

EDIT: nevermind the 2nd strike with the one with the swing in the dirt. Paulie K's looking...? Wests fault? Or not protecting the plate?

How does a guy who thought that ball was hit hard and had a chance have any credibility with regard to calling out umpires for bad calls?

First: I agree with all of darko's complaints about hawk, and then some.

Second: I posted the same shit about hawk 3 days ago and Frank, Keyser, and the other Sox fan here were all over my ass for being in the sox section, "attendance championship", not bashing hawk when the sox were winning, etc.

What gives? Ah, that's right, that inferiority complex is a fickle thing

MLB needs to sit down and have a talk with Sox management. This is beyond unprofessional. If Hawk isn't willing to change, he needs to be released of his duties.

What about the two stolen bases and a goddamn hit into the gap was the Ump's fault? He even called a strike on Kendall that CLEARLY was checked. WTF.

Now, I have to ask. When he went 3-2 on Kendall, a guy who is notoriously brilliant at putting it in play, why didn't A.J. stand up and send him to first so they could smoke the minor leaguer who was on deck? It's just goddamn dumb.

There were several generous strikes given to Linebrink in the 10th. The Kendall check swing was just one of them.

Call B&B tomorrow and see if there is a metric for that.

You won't find a bigger Sox fan than me. And I've never hated Hawk. But this is really getting ridiculous. It's hard to listen to. The entire broadcast has become a combination of complaining about calls and yelling "STRETCH!" on short flies. My God, man!

This whole "Don't stop Now Boys" has pretty much coincided with a really bad couple weeks of baseball too. Why the everloving hell does he think that was a good catchphrase? You'd think he'd say "Well shit since I've been saying this we lost the baltimore series, the Minny series, The detroit series, another Millie series, and now the KC series. I should stop."

I just watched the compendium of bitchitude, and I don't see the problem. The pitch before the home run was definitely high. Joe West APPEALED the checked strike to first base, and they said no swing. The strike out with the outside pitch was borderline, but it also looks worse than it is because the batcher was lined up on the inside. Either way, it was borderline, and West was definitely giving the White Sox a wide strike zone in the 10th. No bitching there then.

Actually, that's not true, because both of them were bitching repeatedly when clear balls were not being called strikes for the Sox.
