You're anti-Rex stuff is annoying. While leading into a Hub quote, George says that Arkush is again on the bench Rex crusade. Hub hasn't been pining for Griese, he just said last week that something should be done if Rex is horrible against the Vikings. Rex was -- so Hub took his stand. That's it.
He prefaces a Peanut Tillman quote with talk of a clubhouse insurrection and the quote talks more about circling the wagons and waiting for Rex to get back his game.
If George had his own show, it would tolerable. I'm not a big fan of a guy who isn't always telling the truth. I remember when B and B used to bust George about his pro-Cub ways. George insists that he's a Chicago baseball fan, but he just doesn't sound that way.

Logging a lot of Frequent flyer miles more than anything else, Coast. Last month the itinerary included Chicago, Atlanta, Salt Lake City, & Redmond. This month Orlando & back to Atlanta.

This is an interesting observation. I attribute Bernstein's identification with the Sox to the era in which he grew up. His formative years occurred at the same time that the Sox switched their broadcasts to pay television. While this was obviously a disastrous marketing move for the Sox, it likely appealed to a budding North Shore elitist like Bernstein, who now revels in an ethos of conspicuous consumption. When the Sox turned their broadcasts into a commodity--rather than an easily accessible form of entertainment available to the hoi polloi, like the Cubs games--Bernstein's fate as a Sox fan was probably sealed. He undoubtedly saw the unavailable nature of their broadcasts to the "blue collar" fan as an attractive trait since having his parents subscribe to ON Tv allowed him to distinguish himself from the filthy masses while still enjoying baseball.

I agree with that George opinion. I am getting pretty sour on the Score overall, haven't listened in months. Mainly since the North thing where he said he knew people wanted more of a sports show/No Annie, but it's his show and he's under contract so screw anyone else.

Bernstein was in Houston watching with Pappy and Fred and it was Terry who was up in his room not paying attention

Now that's interesting. I just figured a snob from Deerfield would be a North Siders fan for sure, so as to distinguish himself from those blue-collar meathead Calumet region Sox fans.

This still puzzles me, by the way, the whole Sox over Cubs thing. Maybe it's disdain for meatball fans? But then look at typical Comiskey residents. Oof. Maybe the Cubs were just really crappy at the time (though wouldn't he have grown up with Sandberg, Sutcliffe, et al?), who knows.
