Since you asked.....why would anyone walk Juan Pierre?? I understand the Lillibridge homer-the guy missed his spot and left the ball out over the plate. But why the hell would anyone walk Pierre? The guy has no power. Even if you have to throw batting practice 4-seam fastballs thigh high over the heart of the plate-do it. Nobody should ever walk that punch and Judy pansy.

White Sox might as well have Manny wait til Wednesday to join the roster. They're gonna need pitching for tomorrow night, can't afford to send a pitcher down to clear a roster spot for Manny til rosters expand on the 1st.

An ugly win is still a win.

4 games back with 31 left and 3 of those head to head with the Twins. I'm feeling good about this even though the Twins have a more favorable schedule. It may be the meatball in me but I expect a Twin collapse. Sox need to sweep those last 3 games though. Besides the Twins the only team on the schedule that scares me is the Red Sox and with all their injuries and the way the standings look they will likely start looking forward to next season.

A "pretty decent team" gave up 10 runs and 21 hits to the Sox, who have lost 5 out of thier last 6 series.

Tigers have played the Twins very well over the last couple of seasons. I hope that holds true and the Sox can knock a couple of games off this week.

Thats not even close. My favorite players of all time, are Fergie Jenkins (I have worn #31 since I was 12 because of him) and Billy Williams. I can't stand Pierre because of the way he plays. He's a punch and Judy hitter, with too much Judy and not enough punch. He throws terribly too. He bunts and runs well....thats it. He slaps the ball around and gets on base enough to get sufficient opportunities to steal bases, which maximizes his otherwise minimal value. His ethnicity has nothing to do with my disdain for him though.
