Not lately, but much like winter, you know it's coming.

No, he's busy calculating Starlin Castro's batting average to the fourth digit.

I can't bash Kenny on the pick up E-Jack and Alex Rios. I hope the Manny pick up pans out that way too.

Edwin is a fucking stud and IMHO, our ace. Sorry Johnny Danks.

The fear of Manny on deck got AJ a pitch to hit. That's call protection.

I think Ozzie played this well. I believe he wanted the team to keep the mindset that it is up to them to win and not depend too much on Aunt Jemima to carry the team. Plus, it lets Aunt Jemima know that this is not all about him, so maybe he doesn't let his attitude get out of hand too quickly. He apparently said he was tired from having to take an early flight and Oz didn't like what he said and decided to let him sit. His appearance in the on-deck circle may well have helped A.J. get a better pitch though. it all worked out pretty well for the Sox

With the Twins coming back to beat the Tigers, it probably doesn't matter much though. The Twins are again 20 games over .500 and on pace for 93 wins. To equal that number the Sox must go 21-9 in these last 30 games. Thats a .700 pace, (winning 2 of every 3, would not even be good enough) and the Sox have only a .500 record vs A.L. competition on the season. Can Manny help a team that has lost 6 of their last 7 series' to win 70% of their remaining games? Not likely.

That's great, Steve, except that the Twins aren't going to win 93 games.

Why aren't they Joe? Thats the pace they are on. Their remaining schedule is not particularly tough, so why shouldn't they continue to win at the pace they have established over the first 132 games of the season??

Because baseball has ups and downs, you're a dolt, and that you cleraly aren't factoring in 3 Twins losses at the hands of the White Sox later this month 8)

Fixed

But stay the hell out of adult conversations, you don't belong in them. Your name is not Joe, so obviously the question was not directed towards you, but someone capable of reasoned thought.

Oh, and learn how to spell clearly.

That is their pace, but keep in mind that the Twins have not been consistent all year either.

That is somewhat true. In the last 38 games, the Twins have gone 27-11. That means they are playing better in the 2nd half and may be likely to win even more than 93. I was being conservative in going by their seasonal (based on all 132 games played) record.

I don't know, they may want to sit him for the first few innings since it is such an early game. He probably needs some more rest.

The Sox need to knock Carlos Carrasco (making his major league debut) around and complete the sweep.

Teahen playing third makes my head hurt. Hopefully Beckham can go Friday.

Aunt Jemima is balck, while Manny is Dominican. I guess because he is "dark-skinned" and has dreds that he just gets put into that race huh Steve? You fucking racist, cowardly piece of shit.

I know that CQ, when hitting well can carry the team, but is he just too high-maintenance for the end results? He has been a butcher at the plate and is now bringing that to the field.

Didn't Teahen play RF for the Royals? Put Teahen in RF, Vizquel at third, and Lilli at second. Simple as that.

Using this (today's) lineup until Beckham is ready to go is probably the best option available. Jones is a better outfielder than Teahen. All you need to do is survive with Teahen at 3rd, and you can bring in Lillibridge as a defensive replacement late in the game. I would rather take Jones bat at the bottom of the lineup than Lillibridge.
