I'm thinking Garrett Wolfe is going bye bye too. Khalil Bell is better.

I don't know about that. Neither one is all that great. Maybe they saw something, because I sure as hell didn't. Wouldn't have mattered either way to me...

Another bad move. Shaw was their best special teams player last year. Afalava was their best safety.

Watching the game yesterday that seemed pretty clear to me.

It is difficult to keep a player on the roster just for special teams. Speaking of special teams, Why the hell is Rasheed Davis still on this team? I hope he goes soon.

Is he still injured? He plays like it.

Didn't look like he got much of an opportunity. I'm more okay with this move than I am releasing your best special teams player. IIRC he wasn't even there for the entire season and he still put up great number. By far the best they've had since Brendon Ayanbadejo.

As a NIU alum I was excited to see the Bears draft a Huskie in 2007. Too bad they picked Wolfe instead of Doug Free (starting left tackle for the Cowboys). He was never a fit for the Bears and they rarely used him. I hope he can find a job as a 3rd RB/ ST on another team.

It doesn't bother me that Al Afalava was cut. It bothers me that one of the only guys I thought the Bears found late in the draft is apparently bad at football.

According to Biggs,

Josh Beekman, Jarron Gilbert, Juaquin Iglesias are bye bye....

Well at least we didn't use good draft picks on them or anything...

Exactly. So we cut rookies like Afalava and Gilbert, but keep worthless vets like Rashied Davis and Josh Bullocks? This is ridiculous. No team wins a ring without drafting and developing players, and the Bears simply CAN NOT do it.

This is troubling to me.

Surprised they gave up on Iglesias after just one year.

Damn. Rasheed Davis & Garrett Wolfe make the team again. Why not keep Juaquin Iglesias & get the fuck rid of Davis? I liked Beekmans versatility...sorry to see him go. He should pay somewhere. Why carry 4 TE's?
And my guy Lefevour gets cut. Not sure whhy they kept Hanie over Dan.
Are Jerry Angelo & Jim Hendry in a contest to see who is the worst GM in Chicago?

Are you kidding? Scorehead watched hours upon hours of Central Michigan football last year. Why, there was nothing he enjoyed more than sitting down on a Saturday and watching Central Michigan take on Toledo or Akron. Warmed the innermost recesses of his heart. And after all that meticulous Chippewa-gazing, Scorehead concluded that Dan LeFeveor was a really good QB prospect. Highly underrated. One of the best QB's in the draft.

The Bears took a flyer on a project in the sixth round and it didn't work. No shame in that. Scorehead thought this was a third round talent, and he'd be just as unemployed right now if he was taken that high. Rarely do you get to see nonsensical ideas flame out quickly enough that you can call BS on the people spewing them, but happily, this is one of those times.

LeFeveor will be on practice squad. Beekman had more lives than a cat and he used them up. The Bears kept Wolfe because it didn't make sense to get rid of all of their good special teams players.

The Chicago Bears will sign DE Barry Turner and OL Edwin Williams to their practice squad, reports Brad Biggs, of The Chicago Tribune.

I realize the fullback is heading to extinction. But take a look at the Bears' line and tell me they don't need someone back there protecting Cutler.

I would expect Williams to see playing time this year.
